This Can't Be Right?

I just came across this flyer on a blog and I do believe that is the Voyager of the Seas. I find it hard to believe that Royal Caribbean refused to do business with YTB yet allows them to use their images in their recruitment drives. How strange is that? To view a larger more detailed image you can click HERE! What is even more confusing is that while the blog displaying this flyer seems to be pro-Royal Caribbean, Travel-Pro just had a post dissing Royal Caribbean yesterday.

  1. I don't know what I find more amazing. The fact that they used the ship, or the fact that they referred to themselves as having "honesty and morality". Maybe we should ask the CA AG. Or the guy that used to own the landscaping business that is now suing him. Or the BBB. Or IATA. Hmmmmm......

  2. It's OK. When I asked traveling mom about the Royal Caribbean Ship, She told me "I had no idea who ship it was".
Yesterday I couldn't spell RTA.. Today I are one.

  3. I received this from a YTB RTA regarding something I posted on-line. YTB is absolutely clueless and Coach has done nothing but spit out propaganda and twisted facts.

"I did want you to know that it was not Royal Caribbean that will not do business with YTB......but the opposite YTB stopped booking with Royal Caribbean......and unfortunately because of what they did Royal Caribbean fired the lady in charge as tons of booking were lost because of all of the YTB bookings and regretfully they are now having to down size. They would love to have YTB booking with them again."

  4. You ought to send her (or him) the links to the articles. Maybe even the YTB produced video about iut?

Ask them to call RCCL and see where Lisa Bauer and Dondra Ritzenthaler are? My bet is that it is not on the unemployment line.

I even am amazed that they all feel that a move to VP of Hotel Operations is a demotion. I think it is a PROmotion, but it might be a lateral move...they all think she is working the night shift at a Red Roof.

  5. They feel it was a demotion because they want it to be so. Grasping at straws to make themselves look better. They think all of RCCL's woes are because they won't do business with YTB. Hardly!

  6. I love this comment on her blog, there are just so many to laugh at... "Very soon YTB Travel will be the largest online travel agency worldwide. YTB's Referring Travel Agents booked over $400,000 in travel in 2007" hmmm 400,000 in travel..sounds about right.

Then she has on their today that "just the other day the KC chiefs decided to work with YTB". Really was that just the other day?

She is completely clueless, uneducated and a perfect representation of the RTA's they toss into the industry. They have no idea what they are even selling (didnt know it was a RCCL ship?), have no idea how much their company sold in travel, and even worse she cannot form a complete sentence. SUPPLIERS WAKE UP ALREADY!!!

  7. Here is the letter from Royal Caribbean regarding their break-up with YTB.

    Dear Travel Partner,

We are writing to provide you with important information regarding the new manner in which we will be dealing with certain travel-related business practices.

Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Cruises have begun terminating our business relationships with certain travel-related companies that we have concluded are in the "card-mill" business (selling ordinary consumers access to benefits designed for actual travel agents). We have a fundamental concern with the business practices of these companies.

We are taking this action in an effort to prevent a growing and troubling trend within the travel industry. As you are likely aware, these "card mill" companies offer normal consumers the ability to become a "travel agent" or "travel agency" or receive "travel agent credentials" with little or no professional training or certification. These normal consumers are also often told they will receive discounted travel pricing and/or other benefits from travel suppliers, such as our brands, which are specifically intended for legitimate professional travel agents.
We encourage legitimate, independent agents to become affiliated with an accredited host agency or to register on our travel agent website, CruisingPower.com.

Our efforts in this area will be ongoing, as we continue to evaluate the acceptability of the business practices of various companies and their associates. We remain dedicated to true travel professionals and will continue to provide them with the exceptional service they have come to know from our brands.

As always, we thank you for your ongoing support.

    Sincerely,

    Lisa

  9. And in a related story...Toucan Sam has filed a cease and desist suit against YTB in an effort to have his, and any other toucan image for that matter, removed from their solicitation materials.

YTB is not authorized to distribute Fruit Loops via any means.

  12. oh and the flyer came from deviant art oh you don't know what that is do you john. it is were people can load their art and you can download it. so blame me for the flyer when i never created the thing in the first place. get you facts straight john before you bash people. And all the people talking about royal carribean nobody cares that is old news from last year and we have moved on from it. Get some new news john. That is what you need to do john find another blog to talk about that is what you do john fernays if that is how you spell it. I see everytime you enter my blog what time you enter my blog everyday. you are a stalker I have an article about you on my blog entitled the stalker.
go find someone else that cares about you.

I will keep blogging and you will keep writing about me because that is what you do. You have nothing else to talk about I have not seen no more MLM on your blog just YTB. You are a travel agent and all you are doing is making people not trust no travel agent book it themselves on Orbitz or go directly to the cruise lines. You are making your own business look bad fool.

  13. Who do you think the public will trust? Travel agents who are professional? Travel agents who are educated and can spell? Or, traveling mom who can't even string a simple sentence together? Or, traveling mom who is completely unhinged?

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well apparently Traveling Mom heard from RCCL or YTB because the post is gone.

Is CLIA aware that you are also displaying their logo which is against YTB policy. CLIA and YTB have an agreement that no one from YTB will display the logo. Does YTB realize that you are jeopardizing the last hold they have to any type of credential?

And as tot he flyer...we all know that you did not create that. Look at the words on the flyer and the words on your blog....YTB created the flyer and you were able to put your name at the bottom--the fonts are even different.

But all is good and you are no longer misusing an image belonging to a brand that has determined that you are a card mill.

  15. Anyone else find the airplane on that flyer a little disturbing? A little too reminiscent of 9/11 if you ask me.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Actually, I think it is an allusion to all the private jet sales that YTB does! :)

Maybe it is Coach's plane? Nope can't be that is a Gulfstream G650. But with a $8M price tag, that seems to be about $13M more than the Market Cap of the entire company. Hmm, how can they get another $13M...I know, have Beryl Martin make up another DVD on how to Depression Proof Your Business. We can sell it for $79.99

  17. Ooooh, John, you better be careful! Traveling Mom has a post on her blog about you and me stalking her. Are you scared? She told me that she worked for the FBI for 26 years, so we better "back the hell off". And she is going to report us to the cyber police, too.

AT, she told me that the reason that she writes like she does is because if you know how to type, you want to make as few keystrokes as possible, so it would be less work. She also told me that most of what she puts on her blog is just cut and paste from other sites. Makes me wonder about copywrite issues, because while there may be things out there on the web, sometimes that stuff is still copywrited. But, since she worked for the FBI for 26 years, she doesn't have to worry about all that!

  18. Well, the CLIA logo is gone, as well as the Direct Selling Association logo. Hmmmmm, wonder why?

  19. Her Fam trip entry is gone now too. The one where she told me if I signed up under her I could get an IATA card.
I'm really shocked that the YTB police brought her down. I would have bet the Grammar and Spelling task force would have gotten her first.
Dumbass is as dumbass does I guess

  20. I imagine YTB does not need her recruiting too much. Not good for Jerry Brown!

So she is changing it all the time. Speaks volumes.

What is interesting is that she is not a RTA she is a Rep--the free position--so I guess she counts herself as "broke" because she didn't fork over the $500.

But if she did, in a few short weeks she would be rolling in the dough and be able to pay off that IRS back tax bill!

  21. Hmmm, wondering if she got a "nicely" worded memo from Wood River. The newest entry on said blog is saying that, and this is not verbatim, what is said on the blog are the views of the blog author and not of ytb, and if you don't like it, don't read the blog, but if you do like it, continue to read.

  22. LOL it looks like the "stalker" thread is now gone as well. Awww.

Seriously, anyone who purchases a thing from this woman is insane. "Own you own travel agency". Holy hell. She needs to go educate herself if she wants to be taken seriously. She just makes herself look even more stupid on a daily basis with her blog posts.
