Since I just caught up with some of the threads the last couple of days and found them closed to comments, I figure I'll post here instead.
ReplyDeleteFirst, Happy New Year to everyone.
Now to Denyse. Congrats on making the move away from YTB and to a traditional host. I think you will find the folks at C&TU (Chad Burt and the Muraca family and others) to provide excellent support and training programs. I wish you the best in making money by selling travel.
For those that have criticisms of Cruises and Tours Unlimited and their Outside Agents program, go ahead and post specifics rather than just making snide remarks. It's only fair to give us a chance to defend them. Personally, I have found them to be very professional. If you need support it is available. If you don't, they will leave you alone. They do double check all booking submissions, and expect you to double check them. While I have referred a number of agents to the outsideagents.com program, I get nothing for those referrals. They are a true Travel Agency with a host program. There is no MLM component whatsoever.
Steve, thank you very much for the congratulations.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I'm just getting there, I have also had the same interactions with the staff. They have been nothing less than professional. I also had a marketing consult, which really surprised me. They were that involved to want the best for my marketing.
I couldn't understand the C&TU comment (not much better than YTB). I'm not sure what people are expecting. Am I only to go to a host they choose?? And of course that person is hiding behind "Anonymous".
Thanks again! Happy New Year.
Some folks just can't be pleased. I don't pay much attention to the 'anons' either, TTA or not. The YTBers have a reason to be anons I guess - fear of retribution, but what could be someone else excuse?
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Denyse, you too Steve. May we all have a good 2009.
Good luck Denyse! You made a wise decision and will find yourself much better situated than some of your erstwhile YTB cohorts in a few months from now when YTB implodes.
ReplyDeleteYou have chosen a great Agency to work with and proof of that should be that you had a real marketing consultation which I suspect was much more "robust" than anything YTB ever offered you.

Thanks guys! Here's to a GREAT 2009!!! :)
