Sporadic Posting Ahead

Just a heads up that I am not sure how updated this blog will be for the next week or so. I had emergency knee surgery this morning and am just getting used to hobbling around in an immobilizer.

I will try, but we have some already scheduled for next week and maybe Kate can pick up the slack. I know you like her!

  1. Your views and mine are as diametrically opposed as a conservative Republican and a liberal Democrat.

    BUT . . .

I wish you the best on your recovery from knee surgery.

  3. John,

You have the cable channel that shows all the surgerys? Maybe you claim it as a tax deduction!!

  4. Hey John...don't know what type of knee surgery you had (I have had 4- 2 on each knee) but I can tell you, ice, ice and ice all you can, 20 minutes on and twenty minutes off. That will reduce the pain and inflamation a great deal. Keep it elevated above your heart and don't try to walk on it too much, don't over do it. Do some ankle pumps while lieing down in bed (keep your leg staright and flat on the bed, and flex your ankle/foot back towards your chest and then forward. That helps move any fluid that accumulates and helps to use the leg muscles without putting any weight on them. They get pretty weak and go to crap quickly.Rest all you can. I hope you feel better soon.

  6. Well, I was walking across the street and a bunch of people with lime green t-shirts that said "I got here for free..."

Thanks for the wishes. I wish it was a bit more glamorous, but I was walking the dog across the street and there was a "heave" in the road that I did not see and I just went down. Friday about 6pm. Kept me overnight, did surgery on Sat and home now.

    Thanks

  7. Ow! I feel your pain, literally. I've had 2 knee surgeries (same knee) and am trying to put off the 3rd as long as possible (because it'll be a replacement at that point - not fun). It hurts from the time I get up to the time I get up (yeah, even in my sleep that damned thing hurts).

I hope you heal 100% and don't have any residual issues. ;)
