A Fitting Image For YTB

By now, we all know of the "image changes" at the recent Olympiad. The not so cute singer... the not old enough athlete...the mental terrorism...and the fake fireworks. All these were done to enhance the world image of China as they had an opportunity to really shine. But the farce came apart and the world was able to see China for what it really did represent (no politics here) as opposed to the image China felt the world should see.

That sort of seems like one of the MLM companies that has taken a hit on this blog for the better part of a year. As a matter of fact, they even had a connection to the Olympics. Remember, they were going to be the world's largest supplier of tourists to the Olympiad because of their affiliation with Shanghai Spring Tours. Well, that did not happen and apparently YTB was not above the IOC and they were not able to "call a play" to allow the $3M in tickets reserved for Chinese Nationals to be used for their packages to US Nationals. So how many were there? My guess is zero. I bet there were severl directors who paid for a package and then were forced to buy locally and see if they could attend any of the events.

Last week's edition of the YTB Biz Report (as all weeks do) featred the above graphic as their "inspirational insight" along with this quote....
Some people make headlines while others make history. ~Philip Elmer-DeWitt

Well, maybe it is appropriate for some companies or countries, but not so sure it fits the bill here. YTB is indeed making headlines, they may be also making history in a sense; but rest assured most of what they are claiming is indeed false and deceptive--just like the fireworks.

  1. Ah, the old "smoke and mirrors". It's never REALLY worked, and I don't understand why people continue to try and use that ruse.

  2. Hey where's all the RATS? Joshie and firemedic and the rest of the motley crew? Are they chewing off their legs to get out of the YTB trap? Or, are they standing in line trying to get a piece of that $100 million dollar class action suit? That would be the only way they would make money in YTB. LOL!

Not that I miss those bone heads or anything. It's actually nice to see some civil and intelligent discussion on here. When the RATs are around it's like being in a freak show.

  3. I'm wondering if they have been "silenced" due to the pending lawsuit?

  4. And once again, when one doesn't come around the others don't either. This isn't the first time this happened. My guess, many of them are one and the same. This happens far to often.

  5. Just to clarify, the RATs haven't been silenced at all. We just don't have the time to spend here just to be called all kinds of names. WHERE is the civil and intelligent discussions going on???

    Have a great day!

  6. I tend to think the same thing. I'm thinking they were told to not "post" anymore. God knows none of them can have a single thought without it being told to them first by the o'mighty ones at the top. Question the company? Never.

As for the person above, on this blog we've been called old hens, dinosaurs, whining TA's, jealous, liars, washed up, has beens, bad mothers, bad fathers, etc etc. However, we are still here, and still posting. And I think this blog is the ONLY one I know of, that allows comments both pro/con. The rest are just plain biased!!!

  7. And this is my point-Another smartie pants RTA. How much money have you made this month honey? If I were you I would be looking at a piece of that big ole 100 Million dollar pie.

Intelligent discussion? ROTFLMAO! All the intelligent people LEFT YTB. They aren't still throwing their money at a Preacher wearing Tommy Bahamas and preaching God and YTB.

  8. They need a damn edit comment button on here!

    Lisa,

You forgot the popular "puke and vomit" tandem that shows their face around here!

  9. It's quite obvious Ole and Mix are Doug posting under different names. Same with this is my point. Since none of them actually WORK all they have to do all day is troll the internet and post on various forums, blogs and other sites. It must get really confusing for them trying to keep it all straight.

I wonder how many google accounts Dougie has?
