  2. Rod--we know coach gave away cruises. That was a brilliant PR move on his part, was able to fill a few of the berths that the RTAs could not sell and likely might have made a few more prospects.

    We all know the military is underpaid and I am sure that the Reps that WERE on board had the recruiting machine in HIGH gear!

    Read the letter from Commander Roux...nothing about recruiting...just sincere thanks for a job well done and how the generous offer of the cruise improved their quality of life.

    And Rod, obviously that CO has no clue about YTB and what they were trying to do. Let me guess here, he had no clue that they couldn't sell out the boats they bought, so they thought they would give then out for free...for a tax break.

    That's pathetic, Crotch and company should be ashamed for taking adavantage of those who protect our country. Being even affiliated in any way with this company is such a pathetic attempt at a legitimate company...so sad you would do this to the uniformed services.

  8. YTB and TRAVEL JERK - Have you ever considered having you OWN blog? Even working at Mickey D's a person would make more money than selling travel with YTB. And how much have you made lately? Come on! Tell us. Is it $5.00, $100, maybe even $110 last year?

    The ONLY reason YTB gave away those cabins is because they couldn't sell them. They used it as a tax deduction rather than take a loss. You're familiar with all the tax deductions, right? There is always a motive and YTB's is to rip off people.

    Great move by a great company!

    A quick word of wisdom for you today on your break from McDonalds:

    If you are unhappy with the legal tax deductions that I and other RTAs get with their YTB businesses . . .

    You can gladly check a box on your next return and give more to the government to make up for us.

    They will gladly accept your donation.

    I will keep doing what I'm doing.

    Uniformed meaning the uniformed guards at the prison? That's where you're going to end up with all the tax deductions you claim to take. Here is a little ditty I found on a YTB website:

    "YTB FAQs: What is the advantage of getting my own website versus just finding the best deal on the Internet?

    Answer: If you book it yourself on the Internet, the online company will send you a confirmation. If you book it on your own YTB booking website, YTB will send you a confirmation and a commission check. Plus, if you treat this as a business (which it is), you may be able to tax-deduct your travel & personal vacations at 100% (check with your tax advisor). That's very powerful, and that's the bottom-line savings. It could amount to this: 25% tax-deduction savings plus capturing the commissions (say, 10% average) which equals 35% at minimum. Of course, you might even make some additional income if anyone else books on your site or you tell anyone about the business and they buy their own travel system (YTB pays you to refer the business)."

    I didn't know you could deduct your personal travel and vacations. How could that be? It can't. Check with your tax advisor and I'm not talking about your cellmate Rollo.
