Rumor Central

I was looking over my Analytics Report from last week last night and one statistic really jumped out at me. Not the traffic--that has remained consistent. Not the time spent on the site reading various posts. Not even the popular posts. What stood out was one of the most popular search terms for the week. These are terms people put into Google or Yahoo to find this blog. I am used to seeing words like these:

  • YTB
  • scam
  • Traverus
  • IATA
  • Rhode Island
  • Carniival
  • Royal Caribbean
  • Card Mill
  • MLM
  • Seligman
  • Lindauer
  • etc.

After all, these were topics I have posted about in the past. However, this one caught me off guard since the name of this company was only mentioned as an alternative to the Olympic packages and only in the comments.

Here is the search phrase:

"globus shuts down ytb" sent 47 total visits

So, over the course of 7 days (June 8-14) 47 people stumbled on our site looking for this information. Was there a memo?

  2. Also, last week or two, there was a comment here saying "and now Globus is shutting down YTB". So, maybe some posters or viewers of comments searched to see if it were true.
Which, as the previous ANON poster indicated it isn't.

But, in speaking to some people I have found that people stumble on to this blog and then don't read the comments. I had a prospect almost bail out because of John's blog. Her friend who was trying to help her out did a search and came across this blog, and became concerned. I sat with her to read the comments and went to other independent sites and she joined. 9 days later is in her power team!

I asked her....would you get factual info on George Bush by visiting Moveon.org?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Maybe you should have asked her, do you want to waste $500 and $50 a month? To lose most of it?

You'd say anything to build your downlines, anything. Preyin on the gullible....so sad.

Did you tell her that most people in YTB make no money? I bet that never came up either.

    ReplyDelete
  4. She, in 9 days, made her money back and now is at a point where it won't cost her anything. IN fact, she will be reimbursed for her first month. So, I don't think she cares what other people do.

    ReplyDelete
  5. I call that BS. I don't believe it. Sure she did. YTBers always claiming to have made all sorts of money, but when the filings come out, it is proven wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I also think it's interesting that all the YTBers that post on this blog claim to be making buckets of money. If that's the case, what difference does it make to you what's on this blog? And how do you even have time to post??

    ReplyDelete
  7. I used that example to make apoint. I will be the first to admit that I have plenty of people that aren't doing much. However, they don't intend to as they simply are buying travel from themselves and it benefits their bottom line. I will also admit that in the last 6 months I have had 7 RTAs become inactive. It didn't work out for them and frankly that does trouble me. TWO of them NEVER called me or their sponsor, or their upline director for support of any kind.
Truth is, network marketing is not for everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  8. In the case of one of my relatives in YTB. She tried to contact her sponser.....for weeks without any reply.

She finally tracked her down, and told her she was thinking of leaving. The sponser told her "If you don't like it, than quit". Now that's some great advice!

    ReplyDelete
  9. It could very well be the comment (and I do not recall, nor can I find that comment) triggered the search term. But not on it's own.

There were 47 people (and that is a significant number) that typed that into a search box. I was pretty clear that it was not "reported".

So let me get this straight, a potential RTA comes here and maybe many of the other sites that expose the MLM model for what it is (a pyramid scheme disguised as a travel agency)and is concerned. And then is taken yo one of the YTB sites to see all the "facts" and changes her mind.

Part of me does not doubt that at all. As someone above said, you will say and do anything to recruit. But I am venturing a guess that the potential recruit, now power team leader (do you get tights and a cape with that?)has little to no interest in travel and is looking for a quick buck--which is exactly how YTB is presented to the masses. Sign up, and immediately receive thousands in tax savings. I just picked up a RTA/Rep card saying that all family vacations are discounted 80% and FULLY tax deductible.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I have a post for Friday about a gung ho RTA that bailed. I know he is a "looser" and a failure because he did not make any money.

Why is it that YTB attracts so many of those?

    ReplyDelete
  11. "However, they don't intend to as they simply are buying travel from themselves and it benefits their bottom line."

And, you wonder why the heck we are still upset?! Geesh....

    ReplyDelete
  12. YTBScam and John –

You boys are such a trip! Can we PLEASE stick with the topic (for once) and discuss why there is a “rumor” that Globus has cut off YTB when documentation shows there is no such truth to the rumor?

    YTBScam said:

You'd say anything to build your downlines, anything. Preyin on the gullible....so sad.

Like this post isn’t preyin on gullible???? Talk about deflecting! YTB promotes Travel Training and that’s saying ANYTHING to get people into YTB? It’s all about recruiting isn’t it?

    Schmuck….

    John,

Why didn’t you check the Biz Reports like you do for everything else? Do you think posting something on speculation is good reporting? Is this just something to keep people talking all day? Are you proud of the fact that documentation was provided showing that there is absolutely NO TRUTH to what YOU just posted? Do you feel its right promoting such a rumor now that it’s been proven inaccurate? Do you even care?

Like the two other Anon posters here, I’m sick and tired of having to clean up your messes when people find your half truths and flat out lies here.

I too run into prospects who find this filth and when shown “facts” realize that you’re full of it.

    ReplyDelete
  13. YTB Truth----MY TRUTH is that 47 people searched that term and found the website last week. Where am I promoting a rumor. Where did I say the the supplier cut YTB off?

As to the deflection comments, they were in response to one of your own..you know the one that said someone saw this blog and now has a downline and all is free and good.

I realize you feel you are cleaning up here, and I realize that you probably do enough of that in your Just Over Broke, but really we can handle it on our own.

People are welcome to voice their opinions on here unmoderated, unedited, and uncensored(hear that Doug) and to be honest, we are not in need of a mop and bucket.

Go clean up your own house before coming in to mine. Read Craigslist lately? I have an update scheduled!

    ReplyDelete
  14. And one more thing, it appears on the Biz Report that the Globus training was included on the Jun 5 report but it did not appear on the subsequent one!

    ReplyDelete
  15. John,
Do you want to know why it was in the JUNE 5th BIZ report and not the JUNE 12?????

Because the Globus training was on JUNE 10th!!!

    Crack reporting again!

    ReplyDelete
  16. WTH with the hostility. John simply stated that people were searching this term. Are you saying that YTB people don't start rumors, or have a clue about certain things in the industry. Please. What about the whole Hilary Clinton campaign? BS. Dr. Seligman? Obviously more then 1 person (if 47 typed it in) heard this supposed rumor and googled it. IT WAS NOT POSTED ON HERE, nor did that rumor start here.

Tired of the bitching and moaning about whats posted on here. He lets ANYONE POST on this blog without it being edited or moderated. That says alot. You are free to respond in anyway you wish. If you do not like the info on this ANTI-MLM blog...don't read it. Start your own PRO-MLM blog and feel free to moderate and only post PRO-MLM BS. This way no one can disagree with anything the almighty Coach says, YTB says, or your RTA's say or do...because we all know they are ALWAYS RIGHT and know everything about travel because they've been in the industry what..a whole year, month, day, because they can book online, because they've planned their own family trips. Yes..your right that makes you an expert.

I just was on WebMD checking on something for son's shot reaction. I guess that makes me a doctor now. Guess I can cancel his appointment now.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I heard coach is guaranteeing FREE
medical insurance to all RTAs who sign up within the next 2 days. I also heard that the REP that brings in the most new RTS in those 2 days gets an all expense paid Globus trip to the unveiling of the new and improved Statue of Liberty. It seems the US Government has decided that the old statue is too tired and hungrey and a new one will be erected in St Louis (after the unveiling at some convention) to honor the NEW backbone of the American Way - the RTA!
    Hallelujah Brithers and Sisters!
Take THAT you tired and hungrey TTAs!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Given all the other vendors that have dropped YTB, it wouldn't come as a big shock if Globus dropped them too. I think most vendors are figuring out that the majority of what is being booked with YTB is for the RTA's own person travel, which should hardly merit a commission check. I think it would be interesting to see how many trips sold through YTB are sold to non-members.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Kate--you have a better chance of finding Seligman's doctoral thesis than you do from getting that number!

"I call that BS. I don't believe it. Sure she did. YTBers always claiming to have made all sorts of money, but when the filings come out, it is proven wrong."

Habitual failures NEVER want to believe that someone else can be successful.

YTBSCAM..."You'd say anything to build your downlines, anything. Preyin on the gullible....so sad."

So is your aunt gullible? How about you? Perhaps that's the reason you keep coming back here.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Considering that 80% of RTAs fail then one could believe that 80% of YTB are habitual failures. And that's no rumor! Maybe they should try juice next?

  22. One nice thing I have grown to appreciate about Travel Lisa's comments is..once you have read one of them, you never have to read another.

    ReplyDelete
  23. John lost all credibility when he became a whiner. I don't like insecure men - they're needy and dangerous. Really now, why would you waste so much time and energy creating your blog just to spout off about a bunch of "LOSERS" as ytb is constantly referred to. That's at least one of the nicer names they're called here.

Kudos to Martha for being honest tho in her reported realistic wages in her Just Over Broke on yesterday's blog. It was amazing how everyone else made so much more than her because they live in the East. Like Martha's Santa Barbara is so much cheaper! HAH!

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anon---so I am guessing you have never been passionate about anything before? Sorry for your wife or hubby!

Do you know how much time it takes to create a blog? About three minutes. Seriously.

Not sure Jon has ever called YTB losers. I am sure others have called them that, but I am not so sure he has--I could be wrong. But by definition, they likely are indeed losers since they are not earners!

All agents are different in earnings. If one was to read this blog, one would believe that we have the Level 5,6,and 7 Directors reading it. You all claim to be making so much money. Yet when the TTAs claim to make money they are discounted.

    So, go here:
http://blogger.com and create a new blog. Really, only three minutes, and feel free to express something you are passionate about.

    ReplyDelete
  25. "One nice thing I have grown to appreciate about Travel Lisa's comments is..once you have read one of them, you never have to read another."

Awww sorry did I repeat myself. I find myself doing that often here simply because certain people DON'T UNDERSTAND. And if you think I give a rats ass about some Anon person's post on here..your highly mistaken. Don't like it..(here im going to repeat myself again) Find the exit, and don't let the door hit ya where my dog shoulda bit ya. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. I wish YTB members would learn to read before they post. Oh well, that's the nature of YTBites I guess.

1.) It's John's blog he can say anything he wants. If you don't like it don't read it.

2.)It is amazing how no one in YTB except those smart enough to leave criticize the company. EVERY company has complaints against it by employees that is human nature. The fact that YTB doesn't is pretty scary and shows how brain washed you RTA's are.

3.) The crack about needy and insecure men. LMAO at that one. IF anyone is needy and insecure it is you RTA's clinging to a dream that you will make millions with YTB and defending Crotch who sees you all as a way to get more toys and more $$$$.

4.) John never called you losers but I will because you all act like it. And, really why do you stay when you are only making peanuts? $350 a month. Please. McDonald's pays more.

5.) Regarding Martha and income level. Yes, there are those that really make six figures. Especially those in specialized niches, corporate and high end leisure. Do you not read the trade papers or magazines? Of course not that would be too much work and judging from your comments to what John and the rest of us your people have reading comprehension problems. Perhaps hooked on phonecs would work for you.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Perhaps hooked on PHONICS would work for you! lol...
At least get your final insult spelled correctly.

My hubby's VERY happy w/my passion and thank god, it's not a J.O.B.(as in what travel agents have.) I think it's weird that you equated john's passion for an attack blog along the same lines of a passionate relationship. Sorry for you and your whoever that you equate business and personal as one and the same passion.

    ReplyDelete
  29. So your thanking "Crotch"? You know he is the second coming of Christ, according to you RTAs and YTbers, and "Crotch" himself. Sounds like another Wacco, or WACKO in the case of "Crotch".

Your hubby is very happy with you losing money every month? I'm sure he is....just tell him the truth and find out what happens. Maybe he's just happy that he doesn't have to listen to your pitch about recruiting people when your losing money. Your out of his hair, and I'm sure that makes him happy.

    ReplyDelete
  30. "My hubby's VERY happy w/my passion and thank god,"

Your hubby's just as stupid and brain washed as you are. Then again looking at what he married he is probably just like you a fat slob that thinks they can make millions with YTB.

    ReplyDelete
  31. You know my Sister got involved with a MLM not YTB but something just as stupid. She poured tons of money into it with very little return. Her hubby was happy too. You know why? Because she was so involved with her MLM that she wasn't paying any attention to him and he was bopping every one within 10 feet of him including the college age baby sitter. Right under her nose. I bet your hubby is happy anon cause he is doing the horizontal bop with some nubile young thing while you are so wrapped up in Crotch and making millions. Yup, he's happy as a clam cause he ain't getting it from you.

If I were you I would be checking his cell phone and credit card statements. LOL!

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think some of you need to go back and read my earning post again. I stated that I don't make close to $8K per month. I don't, but I know agents that do. I also get full medical benefits which adds about $8K more to my yearly earnings. I don't care if anyone knows how much I make, so I'll tell you. I make $48,000 per year plus performance bonuses and I pay nothing more my medical, dental, or eyecare insurance. If things continue as they are now, I should get around $5K in the bonus at the end of the year but that's a big if because our economy isn't so great. If you add everything together, I'm making a living and I like what I do.

I could make more by doing corporate travel only, but frankly, I don't like doing it. I have no doubts that Travel Lisa is making what she says she does. She probably works a lot harder than I do. There are also plenty of leisure agents that make more than me and some that make less. I hope I cleared this up.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Martha,

Its pointless to reason with them. They don't believe anything unless Coach says its true. We both make a decent living doing what we do. Do I make a million dollars a year..Nope. I don't proclaim to make a 7 figure salary as some of the BSers on this site do.

Like I said..it doesnt matter what we say. Supposedly your crazy, and I think im better then everyone else. We are not Coach Almighty (they should make a movie), we must not be christian or ladys because we speak our minds (oh and cuss like truck drivers) and we probably make no money because we are TTA dinosaurs. LOL. :) But I'll still smile when I read the looneys on this blog and cash my check every week.

  34. Hey...don't forget about me...the Cult Leader!

  35. To any new readers of this blog -

It is obvious what John Frenaye did today.

He tried to further a rumor by making a post "Rumor Central" . . . Globus Family of Brands.

Not an ounce of truth to it.

But the headline will make the biased impression that Frenaye tries to further.

He is well aware that many people will only skim the "headlines" and make form their opinions.

More spaghetti against the wall and hope it sticks.

Shoddy drivel from a so-called journalist.

Yesterday's post only showed how clueless John Frenaye is about YTB's compensation plan.

I agree with the George Bush/Move On.org comment.

Throw out your internet drivel and hope some of it sticks.

Lastly - ytbscam . . . you are absolutely clueless as usual.

Habitual failure was right on the money.

    John "George Soros" Frenaye . . .

    Fits like a glove.

YTB and Travel: A Great Mix!

    ReplyDelete
  36. To any new readers--

I asked why people were using the search term to find my blog. The headline does not say anything about YTB or Globus. So the accusation that people gather their "news" from headlines really does not hold water in this case does it?

I have a better understanding of the comp plan than most people in YTB do. If the anonymous poster even read the post, he woudl have seen that I did say there was additional income, but the post was to reaffirm that the recruiting levels are dropping and this one self proclaimed "big shot" at YTB seems to have really become an "also ran" in terms of bonuses.

No one can deny that the number of bonuses paid weekly is indicative of the number of new recruits. It is, and recruiting is going down the drain very fast.

Please do not take my blog as gospel. Do your research and make your own decision. But just as you should not rely solely on my blog, you should not rely on what is told to you by a representative of YTB. A good piece of advice is to take the SEC filings to an accountant and an attorney and have them review them along with the earnings statement and let them advise you if it is a good deal or not. Pay them and they will represent you.

    ReplyDelete
  37. With the economy as it is (at least it is perceived), people tend to tighten their belts.

Higher food prices and gas prices, along with an election that is unprecedented in attention, causes more people to be cautious with their spending.

We are actually in uncharted waters with the fuel prices here in the US.

And the 24 hour news cycle tends to accentuate anything negative.

Thus, the numbers with a majority of home businesses are weaker than usual.

Most home businesses are private and not an open book like YTB.

They may boast of great sales numbers, but we will never know the facts.

YTB's numbers are available for all to see.

The pace is not as strong as it was a year ago.

But the economy is not what is was a year ago.

Still, YTBs numbers is adding hundreds of new RTAs each week.

The idea that YTB is in serious decline is only wishful thinking to the anti-YTB throng.

Yes, some have dropped, but that, too, is mostly economy-based.

Most people pay their monthly fee via credit card.

And many credit cards are up to the max with higher imput costs.

They may be inactive for a month or two.

They can then re-activate (without any additional fees which is not the norm with home businesses) and this happens frequently.

All in all, the future is very strong with YTB.

Only foolish people think there are never sales declines.

YTB is simply a reflection of today's very fickle economy.

Some upcoming announcements (and they are BIG) are going bolster sales for YTB.

The election is going to be over before we know it.

And YTB will finish very strong in 2008.

And this is . . . STRAIGHT TALK and no nonsense.

YTB and TRAVEL: A Great Mix!

    ReplyDelete
  38. "And YTB will finish very strong in 2008."

Sure it will. It will be either gasoline/heating or paying the stupid fees for a website you don't make money on. Guess which one will win?

    ReplyDelete
  39. "Sure it will. It will be either gasoline/heating or paying the stupid fees for a website you don't make money on. Guess which one will win?"

I will be happy to revisit your comment in a few months.

Our Team continues to grow during a weak economy because we teach the tremendous tax advantages of a home business.

$50 per month can easily turn into hundreds per month in tax savings.

Want an extra $5000-6000 in tax savings added to your stressed budget in the next 12 months?

You can have it with a home business.

    Legally and ethically.

Reclassify expenses as deductible expenses by:

    1) Keeping good records
    2) Showing pursuit of a profit.

Not hard to do with YTB.

People looking for a home business LOVE what YTB has to offer.

No inventories, no quotas, no deadlines, no shipping, no deliveries, no returns, no doctor's approval . . .

3 New RTAs on our Team yesterday.

They understand the "hidden" draw of a home business . . . and YTB.

  40. John,

I had a conversation with a mid level manager of Globus who told me that they hated YTB, and were cutting them off. That was just a couple of weeks ago. I think there is truth behind this rumor. I also talked to the new business director at Collette Vacations. He told me that they used to have a banner right on the front of the YTB website... but they have made YTB take it off, because of bad business.

As far as ytb suppliers go.... another one bites the dust!!!

    ReplyDelete
  41. Anon,

If this is true...it is great news. But the YTBers will state that they don't need Collette or Globus so it won't matter.
I wouldn't be surprised if this is true though. But until further proof we will wait and see.

YTB and FAKE TANS: A Bad Mix!

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wishful thinking on a serious decline? I am afraid your numbers do tell that story. You have invested a lot of capital in your building, branching to Canada, Bermuda, Bahamas, and let's not forget the private Learjet for Coach and Scott. You are trying to recruit people to support the bonuses that you "guaranteed" to the directors and your recruiting has gone from 500 a day to about 100 a day and you say there is not a decline? What pays the majority of the bills at YTB? Travel commissions? HA! No, it is the $50 a month from the RTAs and the $500 sign up fee. When the recruiting is down, so goes the cash. I am sure the decline is economy based, people need the money to live--not spend on a website and a promise of future riches. That goes for new recruits and people IN the program that drop like flies.

Doers it not concern anyone that because many credit cards are maxed out and they cannot afford the $50 that they quit and start up again a few months later? If it is working, why drop out? And per your own admission it happens "frequently". RED FLAG!!

We all know about the BIG Stature of Liberty--noble gesture. And it will be interesting to hear the spin on 2Q results and whatever Coach and Scott have to say to re-enthuse the masses at the Convention.

And STRAIGHT TALK coming from you? Come on?

I would be VERY careful about offering tax advice. And savings and cash are two different things. You cannot spend a savings.

As to Globus and Collette (had not heard that), who knows. It was just curious that it came up as a top searched term. But, I said it a long time ago when they started to use that Chinese company for the European tours that I think it might piss off some of their other vendors.

You be correct girl. And you embarass the hell out of us honest hard working TTA's.

  47. Does anyone else feel that Mixed Up is sounding a wee bit desperate.

He cannot admit that all is not rosy with YTB without losing face.

Like his friend Doug, he has no life without YTB. He cannot leave it at the door because YTB is the only thing that gives him stature and meaning. He must defend it, as flawed as it is, because it is all he has.

With every post Mixed Up shows he must continue to spin and deflect to justify his devotion to YTB and his need to recruit for them. His necessary goal is to suck others in or he will have failed Coach and, with that, proved himself a failure. Mixed Up cannot stand alone. He is told what to do and how to do it and follows the leader without question.

Mixed Up is a good example of a 'business owner' that we should all avoid. All his loyalties and dreams and desire for success belong to Coach. His customers, vendors, friends and acquaintences are just a means to prove his worth to someone who could care less if he disappeared tomorrow.

He is indeed, a poor fellow.

Enough of him! I, happily, have work to do and people who trust me to do it well. It's very satisfying at the end of the day to know I have done a good job for my customers.

*Sigh* Another pathetic MLM'r posing as a TTA. Give it up why don't you.

  49. I'm going to assume the same thing. Because if a TTA made that statement, I would like to know HOW I embarrass them? And FYI..the name is TRAVELLISA not BabelLisa. Hard to figure out I know.

  54. but of course, once again, it serves john's purpose to only have to "hear" something and it's now true. god forbid, he should simply check it out himself to see it's not true. that's a whiney leader for ya.

  55. Anon--where did I say I heard anything? I simply said that the phrase was one of the top searched phrases.

I said nothing about hearing about it or anythign like that.
