IATA-2 MLM-0

Seems that IATA is sticking to their guns when they pull someones accreditation. First YTB appealed and the IATA Agency Commissioner told them to get packing. Now it seems the Commissioner has told 10 Travel to not let the door hit them in the ass on the way oput as well.

The more and more I hear of IATA taking a stand on defending their brand!

Bravo IATA!

  1. I hope everyone sees how much the loss of the worthless IATA card effected YTB--we only increased sales by $288 million dollars!

YTB & Travel: The ONLY Mix!

Just watch, next year, we will be right at a BILLION!

So how much travel did you sell Johnny boy?

  2. Way to go John. Super job. Your crack breaking news staff is on the ball. This story was in travel weekly OVER A WEEK AGO. Also, that agency was dropped back in November with YTB and 2 other agencies. So, not sure what your point is.

  3. John, I love the picture you posted of the last remaining TTAs!

  4. Looks like a pretty full room to me. How are the registration coming in for the Convention? What 43 more days! How exciting!!!

But I hear that the room may look a little sparse this year. Not quite the fervor that old Coach expected. But then again, after his two "Sail With My Ego" cruises bombing, you think he would know.

Maybe if he buys the travel for the RTAs and REPS to St. Louis they will come. They came out in flocks for his B-day when he paid for it! And think about it, old Coach can use the cost as a deduction!

  5. SO it is 8 days old. Who said it was "breaking" news? I am just commenting that IATA seems to have some balls!

The point is is that MLM may indeed NOT be here to stay as you like to think!

  6. Yeah give poor John a break will ya?!

Can't you see he's far to busy posting and promoting his blog on here, Yahoo, Google, Scam.com, and Lord knows what other blogs he's dug up on the internet.

He's not concerned with keeping up with what's actually going on in the industry. He has an agenda to and blog to promote! It's called word of mouth. (Or in his case, word on internet.)

You can't expect him to study what's going on or actually sell any travel like the rest of the TTA's who spend all day here do you?

It's all MLM all the time!

  7. I thought word of mouth was the only way. At least that is what they told me at the YTB meeting. Why spend 5 Million dollars when for $500 you can have word of mouth which is so much more powerful!

  8. Actually I just sold 4 tickets to Singapore at $8500 a ticket. Comm to the office $1K per ticket That was in the last 1/2 hour, I won't count the additional cabins to my group, or the other 45 reservations I processed...how much travel did you actually sell today?

  9. These YTB recruiters seem to think tht 135,000 rtas sold ALL the 414mil for YTB. WRONG. VCs TTAs sold just as much with way way way less than 135,000. Why don't you all just mosey over to YTBs REAL agency holding, and have IATA and the recognition with agents and suppliers that you will never get as RTAs.

  10. Travel Lisa,

Try stepping away from your cush job and try running a business and then pop-off. I used to work for a car dealership and someone can in and bought an expensive car. Big flip-in deal Mrs. Employee.

  11. Uh I do run a business. I work as an agent at home, but me and my husband own a Telecommunications and Security Systems company, thanks.

  12. Funny how people who lost IATA suddenly decide they don't need it.

Sorry losers, it's an important industry designation that you will never have again. It stands for credibility and respect. Sure you can make sales without it but you'll never be regarded highly by many suppliers without it.

What a ripoff. The office stole nearly 1/8th the price of a ticket.

What grammer. Try "my husband and I own a ...."

  15. The agency didnt steal anything you idiot, we have a contract for comm overrides. Not that you'd know anything about travel.

And for the other ass. Sorry, I was a tad busy and not checking my grammar. Anything on travel worth talking about, or just felt like nitpicking because your clueless.

It's just strikes my funny how it's perfectly legal for some TTA's to rob a client, fleece them of their hard earned money and all without the use of any sort of weapon. Reminds me of the Dewy, Cheetum & Howe Travel Agency.

Busy doesn't cut it. If you are a professional travel agent, then you must write and speak like one.

  18. One has to wonder how much that ticket woudl cost via that handy dandy RTA site? My bet is that it is considerably more and the RTA would earn 60% of the $6 fee.

Now how does the consumer fare? Paying less for TL's ticket and allowing the agency to make a commission. Or paying more for it and allowing a RTA to make $3.60?

  19. YTBs fares are easy to beat. Which is pretty obvious from the large decline in ARC revenue. Hey, some people actually like to pay more than necessary!

  20. "we only increased sales by $288 million dollars!

Ok, so maybe you did $288 million. The figures are so screwed up no one knows. Divide that by what 133,000 of you. What does that equal? $2.165.41 per person! ROTFLMAO! That's pathetic. So, MIX what did you bill? LOL! You people are losers.

YTB and Travel and Absurd Mix.

If you are an uneducated, underemployed greedy LOSER in YTB you can't read, spell or do Math.

You have no idea how the travel business works nor should you be in it.

Hey Anonymous that was me a TTA I just bought one. But, then again I doubt that luxury car dealership I patronize would employ such a loser as yourself. Big flip in deal.

Most of us have business knowledge something you don't have. And most of us know Math and don't cheat the IRS.

  24. So let me understand this. The TTA's on this blog have to use proper grammer and spelling. We cheat our clients because our comm levels are so high even when the client paid less then the actual ticket price. Ok. This coming from YTB fanatics who think the word loser is spelled "looser", thinking little billy can be a write off because he went to Disney too, and that they will actually make money with this company. I see. Makes perfect sense now.

You can say what you like, as will I. I have more travel industry knowledge then you ever will grasp little boy. Just because you have a cookie-cutter website and a makeshift ID card that say your a professional TA, doesn't mean you are one. Learn something before you continually make yourself out to be the ass you are. If you think your comments bother me, think again. :) Have a great weekend!
