A Challenge For YTB

Is anyone brave or honest enough to accept it and report back?

Attend an "industry" trade show. Do not disclose your affiliation with YTB. That means hiding the bling, the lime green shirts, the bowling shirts, the Hawaiian shirts, and the branded merchandise. Tuck in or turn around your credential. Approach 10 suppliers who do business with YTB and say the following after perusing their booth for a few seconds:

"Boy, that is something about YTB."

And see what they say. Note what they say. And then let us know.

It is a good test. We are not saying "Boy" is good or bad, Are we talking about they way they operate? The fact that they are #26 on the TW list? The 6000 cruise certificates sold last November? The boot from IATAN or RCCL? Or the AG and other suits.  Just let the supplier voice their opinion. You just start the concersation.

If anyone needs info on "real" travel events, let me know!

  1. I tested out that "boy how bout that ytb" at the show last week. The responses varied from an eye roll, to an uncomfortable look, to a "ugh". I think what is more interesting is that the YTBers that were there kept a very low profile.

  2. I was at a show last year and walked up to the ASTA booth and the first thing out of their mouth was "You have to be a professional travel agent."

What I don't get is WHY with all the great hosts out there, better commission split, better support, less nickel and diming why those who claim they sell travel for YTB are still in it? Not to mention respect?

  3. It's a fantastic idea, but unfortunatly this is what I see happening.

    1) They just won't do it, because they know that we have been telling the truth all along, and just can't face it.

    2) They'll do it, get the results we know they'll get, but will come back here and fib and tell us that they were told that ytb was wonderful and would be the savior of the travel industry.

I've talked with many supplier reps that do the eye roll, give the sighs, etc. whenever they hear ytb, or any of the mlm names for that matter. This past June I was on a FAM and I asked the onsite vendor reps about ytb, and one of them said "I wish those people would just die". Now, I don't think he meant that literally, but you get the idea.

  4. They do not want to join another host because they won't get their residual income. So while they admit to actually wanting to sell travel, the lure of the pyramid part still keeps them. I asked the question yesterday (and many times prior) why they would want to be associated with a company that if googled is known more by Scam then travel. If that were my company I would be mortified and embarrased to even tell a prospective client who I worked for. It would also have me high tailing it to a respectable host.

    ReplyDelete
  5. But the residual income still has to be less than what they would make as a TTA. The SEC filings show only a small % make any money.

    ReplyDelete
  6. Does anyone else smell smoke and hear fiddling?

I truly believe that any RTA worth a dime would get the heck out and sell travel with a reputable host. But they don't and we all know it's because recruiting is the name of the game with YTb. How much does anyone want to bet that a potential victim is NEVER told about the issues that affect YTB so much today? About the lawsuits, the BBB complaints, the stock failure....Come on...would anyone in the right mind sign up with this knowledge? No. So it's never brought up and another scam is born.

  7. Although the sentiment is fine, I sure wouldn't address someone in a trade booth as "Boy."

    ReplyDelete
  8. It was not meant as a means to address someone--ala Boy, get your ass over here.

It was more of an exclamation like ---Boy did you see that? I think it was John Travolta in his plane that just flew over us.

I suggest to not give "Boy" any positive or negative inflection--neutral---boy how bout them Yankees

  9. John, I hate you because you're a liberal.

We will never get along because you're a Democrat.

Jerry Moonbeam Brown hates YTB and loves you.

We were not booted from IATAN. We decided we didn't need them.

RCCL? We don't need them either.

We ARE 26 on the TW Power List.

    Travel Lisa is a whiner.

    All TAs are whiners (WTAs).

    We will previal.

    Mark my words.

We will sell a billion in travel this year. It's only October.

    Coach is my God.

We will take over the world and this blog.

    Mark my words.

  10. Grating - you are hilarious!

  11. For the record, I am conservative, registered Republican, and have never met or even spoken with Jerry Brown.

    ReplyDelete
  12. I never met or spoken with Coach either but that won't stop me from being the spokesperson for the travel industry. I am afraid to stare the man in the face and tell him what a dishonest person he is. Luckily for me I can do it from afar.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Well, again--not me.

    ReplyDelete
  14. JohnF, I think you need to go into your Google account and change your information so that you have a unique name here, since it is blatently obvious that someone has stolen your identity.

Fake John, I am not afraid to meet the old man at ytb and tell him what a dishonest person he is, what a fake he is, what a waste of human skin he is. Wanna set it up for me?

    ReplyDelete
  15. What you tryin' to do there in California, Boy? ...er, I mean Coach.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Would someone (preferably you, John) mind posting a summary of factual bullets supporting the statement that Coach is a dishonest person (not to mention a fake and a "waste of skin")? I'm not looking to defend him, necessarily, just wanting to be informed. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Eric I will go one step further for Ainsworth.

I will set-up that meeting for you. September 30th at 7 am at the home office. I will get you in the same room with Coach and a few others. You will have your audience and you can face the man and tell him just what you said here. Here is your chance!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Well, now, Eric, to be fair to everyone else, it is my own personal opinion that Coach is a fake and waste of skin, so please don't hold anyone else to that, and expect them to have the same opinion.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Eric go back to the beginning of this blog and read everything. Go to scam.com and read the threads on YTB. And, then go to the Alton Telegraph and St. Louis Post-Dispatch and type in YTB and read what they say and the comments.

Here's another site with info. All facts including the CA AG suit and what it says.

  20. FireMedic, I thank you for setting up that date personally for me, but unfortunatly I am otherwise occupied on that date with out of town guest. My partner's aunt and a friend of hers from Wisconsin will be visiting us at that time. We haven't seen them for just over a year, since my mother-in-law's funeral last July in Milwaukee, and this trip has been on the books for some time now.

The following week I will be away, in MSP, for some wonderful educational opportunities.

Then I have 2 weeks off, then the last week of October a little vacay for my b-day to MCO and Halloween Horror Nights. Then we get into the holiday season.

Medic, I know you're going to say that I'm copping out, but sorry, I'm not. These are all things that are planned in advance, and I'm not about to change for you. But, if you get with me, I can let you know what my full calander is and can give you my FF number so that you have it when you make my flight reservations to STL. Oh, and I prefer to fly DL.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I will set up the meeting for any day that there is a Red Carpet and get you in the same room with the man. If you are so adamant that the guy is a "waste of skin" then you can buy your own ticket, I just took you challenge to set up the meeting. Oh, and the meeting will be before all the others get there so you can leave before that after you tell Coach all those things. You can find the dates on a company website and you just tell me which one works for you and I will be there! As far as changing things for me....this is not for me Ainsworth. This is for you. This is so you can get these things off your chest and to show everyone here that you will "put up or shut up" as yo would say. I am happy to ablige you.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Um, you're so hot on me telling the man what I think, you can pay for the transportation to get me there to do it. Either that, or have him make an appearance along the Gulf Coast. I also do not do 7am, so he will have to make it later in the day, say around 10, and on neutral ground. I am not crazy enough to put myself in the middle of a bunch of zealots. So that I can make sure I get the dates available correct, what is your website address, so you can't accuse me of looking at the wrong website? I'm sure on your site somewhere there MUST be a list of the red carpet days. Oh, and can you tell me what "ablige" means? That's a new word for me, I must admit. Well, ta. I'm off to do some shopping for my little vacay that we're having this coming weekend/next week to Universal Orlando and then out to dinner.

  23. You know firemedic, Hitler was charming and polite. Same with Coach. I am sure he is charming and polite. He has to be to mezmerize you all into joining and sending him money.

However, he is like a sheep in wolf's clothes. You deluded YTB RTA's and Reps bought into it hook, line and sinker because you wanted to believe it so badly. You wanted to believe you could make millions. And, you are afraid to admit you are wrong.

    The SEC filings don't lie.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I just spoke with Moonbeam Brown.

He is not dating Linda Ronstadt any longer.

    He is still a hippy.

His personal agenda is to destroy America.

    YTB is America.

America is successful because of the Republicans.

YTB adds millions to the economy.

The American economy is in the best shape ever.

Liberals have ruined this country and are tying to ruin YTB but that will never happen.

We get stonger every day and our stock shows that.

We are nearly at our billion dollar travel sales mark.

We will make an offer for Orbitz or Travelociy soon.

We have plans to buy AMEX, Carlson, Liberty, and other large agencies.

We will buy all of the suppliers.

We will own Carnival with one year.

All of you WTAs will work for YTB directly or indirectly.

    Then see who is whining.

    Coach is my God.

    Scott is my Messiah.

Kim is my mentor and a proud member of Nutri System.

    YTB shall prevail.

We will take down Jerry Moonbeam Brown.

    Mark my words.

  25. Ainsworth - LOL! I saw this chicken exit from a mile away! YOU were the one that said "set up the meeting"!

Here let me remind you what you said..."Fake John, I am not afraid to meet the old man at ytb and tell him what a dishonest person he is, what a fake he is, what a waste of human skin he is. Wanna set it up for me?"

You said you were not afraid to meet him "at" YTB and now you are backing out. And you have the nerve to accuse YTB people of "spouting off". LOL!!! So now "if" someone books your ticket AND set's up the meeting you will tell him all the things you want to get off your chest?!!!! LOL!!!

Like I said, I saw this chicken exit coming from a mile away and I bet everyone else on here, including the anti people did too.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh Ainsworth - here is the site you can get the dates off of. http://www.yourtravelbiz.com/WCSK.htm. Let me know if you decide to "put-up".

    ReplyDelete
  27. Give it a rest firemedic. No one wants to meet Coach.

    ReplyDelete
  28. How can you say that AT! Coach is the most admired man in the Universe. (I read that in my YTB REP back office). Presidents and Kings flock to Woods Hole to converse with the man of god and ask on how to fill their treasurys with filthy lucre. 'Get a downline' is becoming the mantra of the powerful and will be engraved upon the Washington monument as soon as possible. The thought that Firemedic has an inside path to the Great Ones side makes me shiver. Or maybe I have a fever, but none the less, His Coachness is in the ivory tower awaiting us peons with an open hand and an empty wallet. Let us prey.

    ReplyDelete
  29. AT - Ainsworth said he wanted to meet Coach so he could tell him what a waste of skin he was! Gave him the chance. This from the "put-up or shut-up" guy. Just calling him on the same kind of stuff you all would.

    ReplyDelete
  30. FireMedic, what I said was that I wasn't afraid to meet the "old man at ytb" meaning coach (after all, he is old), not meet the old man AT ytb, as in AT the location ytb. Learn some reading comprehension. Show me where I said I would meet him AT ytb headquarters. Never did.

Anywho. Not my fault that I have plans that have been scheduled for months now, and you feel slighted because I won't change them for your piddly ass. Why should I rearrange my schedule because you want to take me up on a challenge? None of "your" people would either arrange or rearrange to meet me in MCO a couple of weeks ago, when I challenged you to show me that a livable wage can be made selling travel with ytb. And you call me chicken?

Is that your site, Medic? If not, why isn't it? I asked for yours so that I could make sure that I was getting the correct information. Why won't you put yours up? Chicken?

Hey, hows this medic. Why don't you give me the old man's direct, personal phone number. I know you must have it, and I'll give him a call, record it, and let you hear me tell him what I think of him.

    ReplyDelete
  31. As I sit here and think about what FireMedic has said, and the response I originally posted, I have decided that the response needs some clarification.

First, my original post where I said I wasn't scared to face the old man and tell him what I thought of him still stands. I'm not afraid to do it. I posted that after someone intimated that John F. and the rest of us TTA's are afraid to say anything negative to the Coach's face. Well, just know that I am definetly not afraid to tell him to his face that I personally think he is a shyster, a scam artist, a con man, a fake, a waste of skin, how dishonest I think he is, and what a criminal I think he is.

Second, while I'm not afraid to tell him these things, I'm not going to go out of my way to do it. I'm not going to rearrange my schedule, I'm not going to look up where he is on a specific day, I'm not going to spend money to travel to him to do it. I could care less if I actually ever meet the man, and I'm sure he could care less if he ever met me.

Third, if FireMedic, or any member of ytb for that matter, thinks it is such a big deal for me to "put up or shut up" and go and tell coach all of these things, then they can pay for me to travel to Wood River, at my convience, to do it. As I said in the above paragraph, I could give a rat's ass if I ever lay eyes on the man. If any ytber wants to discuss with me making travel arrangements, air, car service, hotel, etc., then you can reach me at tvainsworth@gmail.com. I would personally rather meet him on neutral ground instead of in the middle of a you bunch of zealots, but whatever.

Now that that is settled, I am going to enjoy the evening with my partner, my dogs, and finish making arrangements for my trip this weekend, my house guests week after next, and my trip the week after that.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Ainsworth - I personally will let you off this one until you start spouting off the "put-up" or "shut-ups" again.

What is sad is that you have developed a belief about this man that is totally opposite of people that have actually met him. Ever seen a movie that the media and lots of other people said was bad and you saw it and liked it? I actually know some that became phenoms afterwards. I mean, it wasn't what you thought it was or what others told you it was like? I am guessing you probably had. Ever met someone that other people talked about badly and you didn't feel that way after you met them? What I am saying here Ainsworth is just because you don't agree with someone it doesn't mean they are less human than you. It doesn't mean that they are a "waste of skin". Especially when you have never met them or had to stare them in the face.

I think what happens is people tend to get the idea at times that the people we oppose are different. "They are all the same but I am different from them". We forget they are humans too with people that care about them and children that think they are definitely not a "waste of skin" to them. As long as we look at people as less than ourselves, we live less than what we should be (in my opinion). I have attacked in the past people I didn't understand and I am ashamed of doing that. Especially after facing them and finding out they weren't what I told myself about them.

Ainsworth, I have seen people do just what you said you was going to say to Coach in that same setting. They drilled him HARD. What I saw was a man that cared way more for that person than that person seemed to care about himself. Coach listened and did not attack. He would not attack you the same way Ainsworth or anyone else here for that matter. I saw character. He is not stranger to opposition. He is just a man, yes, no more worthy of any other man. But what he is not, is no less of a man either. That goes for everyone else too.

If I am sounding holier than thou I apologize. My wife will tell you that is certainly not the case. Just through some experiences I have had I now see through a different set of glasses.

    ReplyDelete
  33. You know - from all accounts, Ted Bundy was said to be a really nice guy...

    ...his ACTIONS showed he wasn't.

Lloyd Tomer may be the nicest, sweetest man on the planet - but how he conducts BUSINESS is what we have an issue with.

Lets try to keep the two things straight please.

    ReplyDelete
  34. And, I will say it again firemedic---Hitler was charming and polite also. Just like Coach. Most scam artists are. Nice, polite and just a good ole fellow while they are quietly fleecing you. You really are naive.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh, FireMedic, I am so touched by your words, and I thank you for letting me off. NOT!

I now believe the man is a scam artist and a criminal. I will believe it tomorrow and the next day and the next, ad infinitum. Someone like that, no matter that they have family that love and care for them, to me, in MY opinion, is a waste of skin. They thrive off the misery of others. Go read this....http://www.travelagentcentral.com/ed...ant-make-stuff

Coach learned in theology school how to come across as you portray him. So did Jimmy Swaggart. Remember him? He was the preacher in Louisiana who, when caught with a hooker in a sleazy motel, cried crocodile tears before his congregation, saying "I have sinned before God", and begged forgiveness. Then about a year later, was caught doing the same thing. All the Roman Catholic priest that have been caught with their hands down little boys pants have been taught the same thing. They're all taught to "care". Yeah, care themselves all the way to the bank with YOUR money.

As others have said, and as you are saying, coach may be a nice, sweet, kindly old man. I don't doubt that. That's what confidence men want you to think they are, but deep down their hearts are as black as a lump of coal, and as cold as the Antarctic ice. Coach doesn't care about me, you Doug, Mix, anyone on this blog or anyone in ytb. All he cares about is enlarging his bank account, just like every scam artist out there does.

You don't have to let me off anything. As I said, I don't care if I ever meet the scum. But if I were ever to be in the same room with him at the same time, you can bet your last dime that I would tell him exactly what I think of him, the things I have listed here. If it's such a big deal to you or any of your cohorts, then you know what to do.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Ainsworth....your character speaks for itself on this blog.

    ReplyDelete
  37. As does yours, Fire, as does yours.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I would accept any words from Ainsworth over any of your dribble medic....your the typical YTB loudmouth with nothing to add to anything.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Ainsworth-

    Really tough man.

You would be a little boy in the presence of a man in a meeting with Lloyd Tomer.

You challenged me to meet you in Orlando and I said I would not waste my time.

And the taunting from you continued.

Put up or shut up, Big Man.

You would be Barney Fife staring a down a bank robber.

Make sure you wear your Depends so you don't embarrass yourself.

The invitation also goes out to the obnoxious loadmouth "put it out there baby" on scam.com

    What a piece of trash.

I thought John Frenaye had an obsession with YTB.

John is a piker compared to this idiot.

    The YTB stalker himself.

Looks like his life centers around YTB with his ranting and ravings.

    Multiple obsessive posts about YTB.

I would pay big money to see this fool shrink in front of Lloyd Tomer.

A big man behind the keyboard.

A little man with a Napoleon complex.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Don't you just love Mix, the poster child for mental illness calling other people names?

    Off your meds agains Mix?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Mix, what is your point? I challenged you, you wouldn't take up the challenge, so of course I continued to challenge any and all ytbers! Sounds like you're kind of a small man yourself. At least I don't hide behind a fake name here when I say nasty things to people like you, FireMedic, In My Honest Opinion, etc. all do! And Mix, you're another one. If you're recruiting others into ytb, you're nothing but a low life, scam artist, con man, criminal, thief. ANYONE that is recruiting others into ytb with the line of BS that one can get rich, or "travel wholesale" or like a travel agent, blah, blah, blah....all the BS lines you guys use, fall under the same list. Keep in mind, these are MY personal opinions, and like a-holes, everybody has one, and I'm sure that my opinion doesn't mean diddly to you. Well, your opinion of me doesn't mean squat to me. If there wasn't some grain of truth to what we are saying, then it wouldn't bother you all so much.

I have stated that I am willing to stare Lloyd Tomer in the eyes and tell him what I think of him. Just because I won't go out of my way to do it, I'm now some kind of Barney Fife? BS, dude. Why should I disrupt my life for that worm? Now, I would disrupt my life to go and watch him hauled off to jail in handcuffs.

You want to call someone a piece of trash? Go look in your bathroom mirror and call what you see looking back at you a piece of trash.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Ainsworth I will pray for you too. Lots of bitterness and I pray for peace for you. You are wrong about Lloyd and for anyone else you feel that way about. And it doesn't help you in your life to be feeling that way. But it's your life.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Seriously is another poster child for mental illness. Delusional for sure.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Seriously, you can seriously bite me. Please don't pray for me. The ones you need to be praying for are the people that you and the Tomers and all the other ytb scam artist have conned into joining.

AT, let them rant about me. If that's all they have to do, then I pity them, because then they truly lead lonely, shallow lives. And hey, the more time they're on here bitching about me, it's less time that they're out there recruiting!

    ReplyDelete
  45. "they truly lead lonely, shallow lives"

LOL! Lonely? LOL! Anyone that reads your responses compared to just about anyone elses on here can see just who has the nasties here. Oh, and who is "ranting" here? Dude, take a deep breath.
