Let's Talk Satisfaction

Has anyone reading this blog ever purchased travel from a YTB website? I am looking for answers for a few questions:
  1. How did the charge appear on your credit card statement? The name of the vendor.
  2. What type of travel was purchased? Air, cruise, land based vacation package?
  3. Were you satisfied with the availability of help during and after your transaction?
  4. Were you overall satisfied with the experience?
  5. Would you book there again?
  6. Any other comments?

  1. Yes Mathew, Just as Julie said, she was on Princess Cruise Lines. They are the only cruise line where the captain is ordained to perform weddings and burials at sea.
Weddings can be performed on other cruise lines, but the wedding party has to bring their own minister.

Congratulations Julie! My nephew also had a wedding done on Princess Cruise Lines. It wasn't as large a party as you had, but he said it was a great experience and also recommends it. I also give credit to your agent. She went above and beyond for you... proving what YTB agents are capable of doing when it comes to booking travel. Enjoy your honeymoon cruise!

  2. Julie -

You sound almost too excited to be real!!! How could you not know the name of the ship?

Interesting statement from a YTB agent..check your facts!

From personnel experience, Carnival, Celebrity, and Royal Caribbean provide ministers for weddings.

  4. Matthew - youare sort of right, but sort of wrong. Princess is the only line currently able to legally marry a couple while at sea. ALL the other lines have weddngs performed while in Port - the couple can marry on the ship in port or can marry on land. I had a couple marry at the Cathedral in SJU because they could not marry at sea - entire wedding party got off the ship and went straight to the Cathedral where her uncle, a RC Priest married them along with the local Parrish Priest.

  5. I never said that the other cruise lines would marry you at sea..the remark was they would provide a minister for you.

    your statement was:
Weddings can be performed on other cruise lines, but the wedding party has to bring their own minister.

  6. Actually, that was my statement. This is the only name I post here as.

I also stand corrected in a way. the other cruiselines do provide a minister... for a fee.

Yes, Princess is the only one that also does weddings while at sea. The others do it at port.

  8. Does anyone else thinks it's suspicous that this Julie person who had never posted on this blog before suddenly appeared and posted a glowing report about YTB? Smells like BS to me.

  11. I have been booking travel with YTB since last March with great success. I do my comparisons with the other on-line giants and when YTB is selling the same seat on the same plane, using the same rental car vendors, or offering the same cabin on a cruise ship for less, I am going with YTB.

  12. Actually I have had a great experience booking travel on YTB's site. My wife booked over $6,000 in travel yesterday for a work trip to NYC. Look the numbers speak for themselves. The company has booked over $1billion in travel as of the end of 2007. Word of mouth works. It's that simple.

  13. JPC Travel Network---of course you did it is your own site.

As for $6000 to New York, what did that entail and from where?

1 Billion in travel for 2007? No way! Not even close!

  14. Actually John, doesn't it make sense to book travel on my site versus someone elses? And yes, expert YTB has booked a billion in cummulative travel since they began booking in 2003. Let me guess, you are a traditional travel agent who now realizes you are obsolete due to the internet...

  15. I misread. I thought you were claiming a billion IN 2007. Which is something that many have also said which is a far shot.

I buy $1B since inception--and with an average of say 40,000 RTAa, that is $25,000 per RTA which probably earned them $1500. You say since 03, might be since 01---so that is $375 a year (based on 03) and $250 a year (based on 01).

    Yehahhh---rolling in the dough!

  16. Wow John, you clealy have no clue. Actually, the company was founded in 2001 but didn't start booking travel until 2003. We now have 136,000 active RTAs and climbing every day. Millions in travel commissions are paid every month. The question I have for you is how much travel are you booking. Instead of bashing a legitimate business model why don't you at least get your facts straight.... Oh and by the way, I earned $6,700 my first week in the business so yes as a matter of fact I am rolling in the dough

  17. Your $6K was not for selling travel. It was for recruiting!

  18. Right John, it was for recruiting. I'm sorry what's your point? The world of business is all about networking John. It takes place in Real Estate, Insurance, every other business, and now travel. Welcome to the 21st Century...
