Just A Few Comments On The Competition

While this blog is about MLMs, YTB has taken the brunt of the conversation. No doubt about that. Why? Well, they are publicly traded for one--and their info is out there for all to see--the good and the bad. Number two, their RTAs tend to be very loyal and (in my opinion) overly trusting of what they are told. It is the "he said it so it must be true" mentality that prevents them from addressing any reasonable objections or concerns. That is their own cross to bear. I still think YTB is a bad investment and stand by my assertions that very few make any money in the program. Time and time again, no one has provided any reasonable proof of making any money despite the factual figures provided by YTB that prove my point. I also think I have to be onto something here when major suppliers and industry credentialing associations are terminating them. So it is not just me!

What I find amusing is the circling of the vultures. TraverUs is the lead vulture and they are out in full force recruiting the scared RTAs. Of course this is a warm market--most pyramid participants will participate in many. And TraverUs is most certainly a card mill as well. Although they will not admit it (after all the YTB folk now know that "card mill" is a bad word). They feign compassion for the loss of IATAN and RCI. Check out this excerpt from a blog:

Hi Friends,I wanted to express that I am sorry for YTB losing their IATAN #. It truly hurts any industry when something like that happens. And no matter whether they are a competitor to TraVerus I wouldn't wish ill on anyone's business. I wish you well in any venture you choose!Maybe you're at a crossroads as to what you'd like to do with your business and future. I'm sure you were great at what you do.I am with TraVerus and we're growing strong offering an opportunity with a very low investment. If your downline is in a panic you could give them this option to come over with you. If most move together it could cost you or them little or nothing to join.
What a crock, This is the best thing that TraverUs could have hoped for. Now they can easily recruit with very little effort. Why don't they call a spade a spade? Are they really "sorry" about YTB's situation? Hell no.

And you know what, neither am I. I have said from the beginning, the MLM firms operate on the very fringe of legality. All of them. They may change the terminology from pyramid to pyramid but the end result is the same. You will not make any money in selling travel under these programs. Hey TraverUs--do you have anyone that can show me some proof? Doubt it! So please stop with the false platitudes. You are ecstatic that YTB is having their problems. And to probably a lesser degree, I am as well. I think the truth is finally slowly starting to emerge.

TraverUs, please don't think you are any different. You call then CTAs (which I think is intentional deceit) and YTB calls them RTAs. Pretty soon, you will be in the same position claiming IATAN made a mistake, RCI made a mistake, poor TraverUs.

Time will tell. As the big words at the top say MLMs and Travel: A Bad Mix!

  1. For just a few moments in time, John had posted a new thread saying, "OH OH" about the following below. He then promptly removed it.

John, you need to read up on what it means to be "on" or "off" BUYINS short threshold list before you go, "OH OH!".

Nov 29, 2007 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- YTBLA | charts | news | PowerRating -- BUYINS.NET, www.buyins.net, announced today that these select companies have been removed from the NASDAQ, AMEX and NYSE naked short threshold list: YTB International Inc. (OTC: YTBLA).

    ReplyDelete
  2. I don't know what that means, either. Actually, I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing to be on a list that has 'naked' and 'short' in its title.

    ReplyDelete
  3. I like being naked, just not short. ;-P

    John;

It's about time this TraVerus joke starts getting some attention. This idea that they're a "Real Travel Agency" because they take a test? PLEASE!

Any YTB RTA who makes the switch is just jumping from the frying pan directly into the fire IMHO.

  4. The fact that they were ever on the Naked Shorts list is nothing to be proud of...neither is the current stock price. Profits up 200% and the pps drops?!

  5. Check this out on scam.com. It appears that one of John’s boys posted this under the name of Milique2.

John removed his “OH OH” thread but not before this moron shot his mouth off about nothing he knows about! He admits it too! Here’s what Mr. NoClue had to say.

Guess YTBers just lost another fight.....
DOH!!!! Thanks John for the news...guess you won't be using that excuse anymore YTB. But what does this mean since they aren't technically "on the NASDAQ per say. Look at it either way.

  6. Profits up 200% and the pps drops?!

Probably why it came off the short list? I'm no guru, but maybe.

Can we drop this and get back to the subject of the post which I think is more important than some penny stock. None of us own it so who cares!

I've been seeing some of these TraVerus people pop up and I think they need to be squashed NOW.

If you don't know about this company and some of thier "CTA's" (caugh...choke) you need to see what some of these bozos are doing. Go to Scam.com...

Yeah they're after the YTB people, but what happens when they switch and we're right back to square one. Then THEY are at the top of the Pyramid and none of them have been in the biz for more than a year.

  7. YTB has been off and on the BUYINS short threshold list before. They are nothing but a monitoring company for squeeze trigger alerts. No big deal. Apparently Mr. JF thought is was hot news when it was announced they are "off' the list today and posted his latest thread, "OH OH!", then suddenly he removed it not before some of us saw it and also the dummny on scam.com who decided to post JF's big news for the day there. lol!!!

  8. The idea that YTB RTAs are flocking to Traverus is nonsense. It is not happening with any significance and those that would leave are ignorant to do so. YTB gets the attention because we are the biggest networking travel company and we are, like JF mentioned, publically traded.

YTB canned a Director earlier this year because of unethical practices and he immediately hooked up with Traverus. If you think that YTB does not focus enough on travel, this guy behaved as though travel did not even exist. And he joined the next deal . . . coming out with his own blog complaining about YTB with a clever "popup" link trying to get you to join his new deal: Traverus. I hope they enjoy having him among their ranks.

YTB has never hid the fact that we are REFERRING travel agents. Traverus tries to use CTA, believing people will think they are "certified" like a traditional agent. Not the case and I'm glad that JF mentioned it and gave them a bit of attention today.

I agree. Now that we beat up and bullied the big dog YTB, lets move about the school yard and find some one else a lot smaller to beat up on. I know...let go after TrashVerus! Watch out World Dentures...your next!!

  10. I was preparing a post and accidentally published it when it was supposed to be a draft.

I saw the news and like I posted on TW, I was not sure what it meant. But delisted seems to be a negative word if it is a good thing, I think a more appropriate phrase might be "they were removed from the watch list".

But yes, I began a post and I thought it was in draft mode, it published for five minutes and I took it back to draft. No need to get your panties in a knot.

I'm not sure if you're getting the fact that these jokers "think" they're "doing it the right way". The only reason they think that is all the focus is on YTB.

It's business as usual and I'm sorry to say, that business doesn't fly with me.

John pointed out World Dentures this summer, but all anyone talks about is YTB. The rest of these cults are just as bad.

These TraVerus people are getting really bold, and someone needs to fire a shot to let them know they are in fact on our radar.

Either did the village idiot Milique2 on scam.com. But you went ahead and posted something your "not sure what it meant" as if it was a tragic moment for YTB. How professional of you John. You’re loosing credibility with stuff like this.

  13. I have a short comment on the competition. YTB IS THE COMPETITON...

I was approached by TraVerus rep yesterday and a real professional
from World Ventures headquarters called me today.

I was polite and they had a good delivery.VW..but I'll stay where I
    am.

You know why I don't believe you John? You claim you accidentally published it, then why didn't you finish it?

I'll tell you why. Cause ya just didn't know what you were talking about. To quote you regarding your "OH OH!" thread you deleted, "I was not sure what it meant."

Maybe you should go eat some more turkey if it's not spoiled yet!!

  15. TraVerus & World Ventures

    TraVerus - 10,000
    World Ventures - 20,000 RTA's

I guess you respect these guys & they are your heros now. Look at a few of the emails I have been receiving with Free Cruise offers thinking they will be taking over the industry as the big boys now.

What's up bro. I just wanted to inform you that YTB is no longer accredited by IATAN which means you guys will have trouble booking travel in the very near future. If you don't believe me, call IATAN yourself.

A lot of your reps are jumping ship while they can and are coming over to Traverus so they can get their certification back.

Don't wait too late. I'm with the the top income earner in the company, and our team makes more money than anyone else in the business. That's not hype, that's fact. I came over with them last friday and already have residual income and weekly checks coming to me.

Ball is in your court now.

    Dear YTB RTA

I want to share with you a few things that have come to my attention in the last few days. I'm finding many of my friends in YTB were unaware of several of the following things.

I WANT TO MAKE IT CLEAR THAT I AM NOT PUTTING DOWN OR ATTACKING YTB AS A COMPANY BY RELAYING THE BELOW INFORMATION. I HAVE AT LEAST 3 DOZEN FRIENDS BUILDING A BUSINESS WITH YTB AND I HAVE RESPECT FOR BOTH THEM AND YTB AS A COMPANY.

Per the following I simply want to make aware of a few things that have come to my attention recently as well as show some differences between YTB and another Travel Network Marketing Company named World Ventures.

    - Openly and upfront I will tell you I am engaged in building a business with World Ventures.

PLEASE look at the information objectively and if you would like to have a conversation regarding anything I would absolutely be open to it.

    Thank you.

    Subject: Hey
    From: TRT Travel

Body: The International Air Transport Association (IATA) and the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) have both just announced that they will no longer recognize YTB as a travel company. In short, YTB reps will no longer be eligible for courtesy discounts when they travel using their now defunct IATA YTB cards, nor will they be able to book travel with the major cruise lines like Royal Caribbean Cruise Line/Celebrity. These incredibly unfortunate circumstances that have recently befallen YTB follow the announcement that 21 of the top 28 income earners with YTB have lost as much as 40% of their monthly income during the last 6 months and this substantial income loss occurred before the announcement from IATA and ASTA within the last 48 hours!

I'm sure if you go to my biz site you will see World Ventures have more to offer you, and we our the better company. if you dont want to look because you dont like the way i came at you i'm sorry.but if you look with a open mined you will see which company better i looked at both. ur monthly fee is $50 ours is $19.99. do a search on ur site than do one on mine i will have more results for less money.

  16. TraVerus is just blowing smoke.

Nobody in my upline at YTB has left, and nobody in my downline left YTB either. Nothing can make us leave YTB! We know what we have at YTB, and we know it's great!

I was also contacted by this TraVerus person who got canned by YTB for unorthodox business practices. He didn't voluntarily leave like he claims. He was stripped of his website and credentials. I know one of the people in his upline, because he is in my upline as well. YTB does take seriously how their RTAs and REPs represent the company.

BTW... YTB is still publicly traded on the NASDAQ and the stock closed at $1.20 Friday.

    ReplyDelete
  17. When did you move to the NASDAQ?

Last time I checked you were not listed because of failing to file SEC reports on time and were being traded on the OTC Pink Sheets.
