KC Chiefs Become Latest RTA

YTB has signed up the Kansas City Chiefs as their latest RTA. No doubt with the fan base, they will be a director in no time. YTB issued a press release this morning about the partnership. I do wonder how many of the fans will actually get the message about the "service" and how many will actually use it? It seems it would have been much more lucrative to handle the team travel as well as their official fan club. I am not sure who handles that, but I believe it might be All About Travel in Mission, KS.

But for now, congrats to YTB! Hopefully this RTA will produce as expected and this program will not be rescinded in short time as well.

  1. Well I'd think those All About Travel people should be pretty pissed! If the Chiefs were going to set up packages with tickets for away games, shouldn't they have worked with whomever does their team travel?

I'm sure there are some phone calls going back a forth between All About Travel and the Exec Offices today......

  2. The site is just the same site with a KC Chiefs logoi in the background.

Is this bypassing the RTAs? Maybe YTB is trying to get a little more legitimate travel on the books.

I bet it is a done deal before pre-season starts

  3. How long before this deal go to the crapper just like every other one YTB announces? I bet it won't be long. Once one or two people get ripped off, or have a bad experience, they will dump YTB in no time.

  4. well. i tried the site for a couple of different games and came up with lower fares then they did.
not having southwest airlines really places them out of the running as far as I'm concerned.

  5. Great point anonymous. People would be stupid not to price around. There is no way I would book straight through a site like that and not check around first. Plus how many fans actually fly into every game. How many of those fans are local? A good majority of them. So this will become another failure for YTB. It's not like 70000 people from in every game.

Use your business mind not your anti-ytb emotions. Think about the national positive publicity YTB is getting from this.

Do you know how much that website cost the Chief? $449.95. Do you know what the monthly hosting fee is? Depending on the program they came in under, if they came under the Association/Corporation Division, the monthly website hosting fee is $0.

How can the Chiefs lose with a $0 monthly hosting fee?

  7. They lose because it supports MLMs. There are a lot of people who do not approve of the MLM model and will not support it.
Go ahead and pay more to support your team. Something tells me that the Chiefs are being paid enough thank you.

It will be negligable other than within the TA Trade. Maybe some local publicity......

  9. I would say that if they get people to book on it, they will likely have a problem. With a game you are dealing with tight schedules and timetables.

They are not going to be pleased with the "call your vendor if you got a problem" customer service.

  10. Who cares? The Chiefs Stink and YTB stinks. A match made in heaven.

  11. I have read this blog for a long time and this is my first post, but if YTB did this--good for them. They are growing their business. Are you jealous that you did not think to get the fan based travel? This is a company that is working for their RTAs and this is great news!

    Blessings-
    Walter

YTB and KC Chiefs only ask that you buy from us if you find the same flight, hotel, and rental at the same price or better. They are not asking the fans to pay more.

  13. LOL Jealous of what? Fan-based travel, IF anyone actually books on the website. TTA's are not jealous of YTB, we are sickened by their lack of standards

  14. Jealous? Jealous! OMG! Of what? A bunch of losers who play "travel agents?" Signing up a 4-12 team which is a disgrace to the NFL? Not that big of a coup honey.

And, if you had any reading comprehension skills Walter and the rest of you RTA's you would no we ain't sinkin jealous. Pissed off that you CLAIM to be travel agents. Pissed off that you recruit a down line. Yes! Pissed off that you prey on people who can't afford it! Yes. And pissed off because Coach and the rest of the Wood River gang know zip about travel and should be no where near the travel industry. Jealous? Please! Pissed off? YES!

RTAs do not sell websites. Reps sell websites. Reps become Directors. Large corporations and non-profits are not permitted to be Reps.

    You still don't get it.

    This is not rocket surgery.

  20. You'd think that those in YTB would get it. First the Olympic Tours fiasco, all the dropped tour operators, the good ole Dr. Then we have the Fly for Free crap, that didn't even last very long at all. Everytime Crotch and company clamor about, they release the next greatest thing since slice bread, only to have it fall flat on it's face. But then again that's what they do, they prey on people who get their hopes up on the next greatest treat that's dangles in from of their face.

  21. WOW!

What a bunch of sniveling, immature, ranting, raving "experts" on this site.

You all sound like the teenage girls at lunch when the new girl at school walks through the lunchroom.

"She's not as pretty as she thinks . . . I bet she had a nose job done . . . She's probably like really stuck up like, you know".

    This is hilarious!

    Get a life, TTAs.

    Welcome KC Chiefs.

  22. That's great for YTB. Let's just celebrate the win.

    YTB Travel representing again.

  23. Oh look OLE has changed his name to YTB travel affiliates. I wonder how many of the anonymous blokes are both Crotchkeeper and Doug...I would guess a majority of them.

You're right. I just stumbled across this site. I don't get it that if a large corporation is not a Rep WHO services the client for the team? Just the computer? Amazing -- what a joke.

Who could ever imagine where we might be today if Thomas Edison had not persevered after ten thousand failures?

YTB is experimenting with mlm and travel to discover the right mix.

Hey Dougie is back posting again. At least be a man and post your name Dougie. HAR! HAR! HAR!

  28. Rod,

I like you in the fact that you don't throw insults at me, or as Doug would do and the "many" other anonymous people Doug portrays. Rod, even though I don't agree with you it's nice to know you are at least trying to make a point. Kudos to you.

Jay (Oh my I just used my real name)

Jay? Are you sure your real name isn't Jay-ack-ass?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wow imagine that. I use my real name and a YTB anonymous, pulls a insult.

Hey OLE, AKA Doug, nice try. Go get one of those fake tans.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Many of you are missing the point. It isn't about service. It will likely be about charity, and second, fans can win tickets and other prizes by booking there. And as a football fan myself (not chiefs) if my team offered that I would buy there every time to try to win some tix.

    ReplyDelete
  32. LOL ok so you would spend more money on a cheesey website offered by a your team in HOPES of possibly maybe winning tickets. I think PCH is calling you.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Actually, if I knew that some of the proceeds were going to a good charity, I would pay more, period!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I wouldn't pay more money, but if it was the same price and a chance to win, I would definitely buy tickets on their YTB site.

  35. If one is known by the company they keep than the Chiefs are certain losers again this year.
