Pot Meet Kettle

This is just too funny. Our own Firemedic has a blog about Traverus and how he does not like that they are competing with YTB and how their people "advertise" that Traverus is good and YTB is bad. They can fight that fight.

But now he is so upset that Traverus is branching out from the travel business and is selling some fragrances and potions and lotions. His title, "I Thought It Was About Travel?" was a hoot.

What about YTB? All we have heard lately is that it is ALL about travel. Well, travel and recruiting, and cars, and camping gear, and flowers, and tickets, and wedding registries, and clothing, and magazines, and DVDs. But YTB is all about travel.

Traverus is evil. Just ask Firemedic.

  1. OMG I HAVE TO SAY SOMETHING. FM you ARE a hoot!

Whatever happened to 'respecting thy fellow networker?' First you are bashing every TraVerus rep you can find (including one about me for posting here asking you a simple question) and NOW you are acting as spokesperson for product line that hasn't launched yet, and posting MISINFORMATION AGAIN already. Can you say hypocrite??

First of all, our products will be related to travel directly/indirectly. You know...motion sickness, jet lag, skin changes in different climates, losing weight before/after a vacation? We only have 7, and let me add they are approved for when you go through airport security.

FM can you offer your client a car, flowers or a travel outfit as a free sample for them booking with you? I think not. I think it's great that we have a tangible prodcut...you don't get it yet do you?

Our products are meant TO ENHANCE a traveler's experience NOT TAKE AWAY FROM IT. Travel is still our #1 focus and expanding to do that is okay in my book. GEEEZ

We are not nutritionist but will get the proper training (and for FREE like ALL of our trainings, not at extra costs)to effectively market and learn about them; and instead of going to other health companies will brand our own. I like it.

Before airing others' laundry, check to see if your loads (in your co's case HUGE DIRTY ONES) need washing.

I commented on your blog FM I hope you publish it so people can see the correct info. Since the last blog you published about me you left out my last comment for people to see.

  2. Oh Firemedic, with the giant mess in the YTB backyard how on earth do you have time to look around at Traversus? And with Traveling Moms pushing travel at a sextoy party, and Grits selling travel at the local stop and rob, you've got no room to talk. YTB even pushes selling hunting and fishing gear so your members can go out and kill animals. At least Traversus is trying to push something that will improve someone's health rather than promoting hunting and killing.

  3. wanted to add, don't be surprised if your company does something similar....you guys are NOW implemeting things that TraVerus has been doing since inception...higher commissions (ours are still higher), actual training to book direct with vendors for higher commissions (something that your company ridiculed - I repeat- RIDICULED TraVerus for doing from the start); new booking engine, no overrides for Referral agents, training in your back office instead spending $$$$ to commute/fly to a location, the list goes on. ALL of our trainings are free though. LOL

So you will eat crow if your company does this.

  4. Firemedic has got to be one of the most insecure people on the face of the earth, what with the way he posts here, has his own blog, and makes postings all over the net trying to help Kim "legitimize" ytb. But, to use his favorite word, whatever.

Lakeisha, if I were you, I wouldn't count on him posting anything that you say that might even come close to proving him wrong. That's why he has comments on moderation on his blog. So that he always looks good, and everyone else looks bad. He's done it to me several times.

I commented on his posting about the Traverus products. I said over there, and will say it here, that while I'm not real thrilled with it, since they are a travel company, I can understand their stance. The products they are selling do, in a VERY roundabout way, relate to travel, as stated above by Lakeisha. Because of that, I'm not going to get all that upset about it.

YTB, on the other hand, has products that has nothing to do with travel. Cars (though his arguement was that you needed a way to get to the airport). Flowers. Camping gear (again, his arguement was where are people that go camping supposed to get their gear. Um, the local sporting good store, perhaps?)

YTB does have 1 thing that is not travel that I have no problem with, and that is their "resort wear" line of clothing. Since it has a roundabout connection to travel, I have no problem with it, other than all the clothes are all uber-tacky.

As long as the product being sold can in some way be related to travel, even if you have to make a bit of a stretch, then I see no issue. As a full service travel agent, I can get someone show tickets, a limo to that show, assist a newly engaged couple set up their wedding registry, etc. So, like John and Lakeisha, I don't see what FM's problem is with what Traversus is doing. He's just looking for something to bitch about in his sad, lonely life.

  5. I agree Ainsworth. I had mentioned in the past that other travel companies don't need to sell flowers/cars/camping/hunting gear to be a successful TRAVEL business. For years giants like Carlson Wagonlit, Expedia, Orbitz, American Express do just fine without all the other stuff. TraVerus doesn't sell all that either but your usual and Honeymoon Registry.
That said I agree I don't have a problem with helping cliens feel better, but the way we are distributing compared to what they are doing is totally different and can only help our business IMHO.:)

You are right, why I waste time typing to FM (especially since I juuust got my perrtty nails done...I should know better. lol

  6. YTB sells "resort wear" line of clothing. Is that the tacky crap Coach and Scottie have been wearing. ROTFLMAO! That stuff looks like they found it in the goodwill bins. Hey maybe they did and they are recycling it!

  7. Let's not forget YTB's Gift Baskets, chocolate gifts, bonsai tress (hey it's on the flower page lol),cheese-cracker-fruit baskets, tee shirts, coffee mugs, buttons, YTB mouse pads,YTB Luau lounger chair, YTB cooler, YTB blanket,YTB micro mesh desk folder, YTB tote, YTB key chain, YB photo frame, YTB lapel pin, YTB rolling brief case, YTB luggage tag, YTB pens, other YTB brief cases, YTB passport case, YTB insulated tumbler, several types of YTB jackets, several types of YTB hats and caps, all kinds of shirts, YTB registry for Honeymoons, Weddings and Anniversaries, YTB golf balls, various lists of gifts from Well Wishers International which is on the Bon Voyage listing under the cruise tab (they get a 15% commissions on all of those gifts lol and this feature was touted at the Funshine meeting recently in Florida), YTB tickets and Attractions, YTB Theatre, Musical and Sports events tickets with Tickets Now a TicketMaster comapny, YTB new and used cars, YTB cell phone service,.....oh hell there is too much to even add here.

FM is nothing but a liar and a huge hypocrite. He's a desperate, blind YTBer with the morals and courage of a worm.

Any consumer can get most of those discounts for FREE, and any one with any kind of business, even working at home and having no employees can also get all of those discounts for free! Anyone can have a DBA and get them or be Incoproated and get them or work for a Corporation and get them. They are NOTHING exclusive to YTB! Yet the RTA's tout them as such!

  13. Hmmmmm, over 24 hours, and not a peep out of FM. Could it be because he has no defense? That he knows what he is doing is hypocritical?
