Top 9 Idiotic Comments By MLMers

MLMers are a breed apart. From what I can see, most will not even listen to an opposing viewpoint. When challenged, they will typically spout off any statement (factual or not) that might prove their point, or their foolishness. The other tactics tend to include backing off and ignoring the question, changing the subject or merely saying that "you don't understand". Of course, personal attacks and vague threats are not off the board either. Their comments are amusing, enlightening, and at times very sad. Here are my top ten favorite comments made her or on other boards. SO, in no particular order, here are my top 9 to date:

An anonymous email send from an anonymous email service. Cowardice at it's finest I suppose.
Subject: Cry Baby

You're a real winner aren't you Johnny boy? You haven't seen anything yet from YTB. I can guarantee you'll be in the food line soon...you little cry baby. You go ahead and stay right there...stuck in the past way of booking travel. I have chosen to be a part of the future business model for the travel industry. Good luck with your life!
From another anonymous email. This one was sent from some website and I needed to pick it up like an E- Card. This one must be a retired CIA NOC since he was able to find out all that top secret information about me! FYI, it is flawed. I am still holding on to 45 for a few more weeks!
Hey Johnny Jack Ass!
Now I\'ve got your real name:
John Frenaye
Age 46
Annapolis, Maryland
Man are we going to have fun with your ass now!!
Just remember...you started all this bullsit that is about to come raining down on you.
Have a nice day!
This one is my personal favorite. It was back in July when the column first appeared. Is Bentley Motorcars aware of their new color choices?
AGAIN you get paid for your efforts and if you don't work you wont get paid, so everyone crying about what we aren't doing can keep crying...I'm going to the top, and perhaps that is why I am purchasing a brand new Bently Cocaine White Convertable to go on my 5 acres of property in Wine Country to go along with my already G500 and SL600 because my husband and I both are building an empire with YTB
Another good one from a recent comment on this blog. I think she is suffering from delusions of grandeur.
As far as travel income goes... (not from marketing), I made over $63,000.00 for the year to date. I also have a good number of group cruises I'm working on for people... that will be taken before the end of the year. This will push me extremely close to the $100,000.00 in commissions.
From a poster who always seems to have the inside scoop on the inner workings. Posted right after RCI announced they were terminating some agreements.
My information says it was several companies - ytb not being one of them. ytb actually produces large volume for the RCL family.
Same guy, after a top secret call with YTB HQ:
Having spoken to ytb corporate this morning - they have been assured by their RCCL sales manager that they are indeed NOT one of the companies targeted or listed.

ytb produces significant volume for RCCL and just recently attended ytb's vendor event in Florida with tremendous excitement in where the ytb / RCCL partnership is headed.

I'm afraid your info is incorrect.
Same guy a few hours later:
My sources did not tell me the truth.
The same poster with the inside knowledge.
IATA means very little to ytb anyway.
The SAME insider with a play by play on the success of the One Day Carnival Sale. And a commentary on Perrillo Tours.
Over 35,000 sold as of this afternoon and it hasn't even got hot yet!
LOL @ Perrillo - like anyone books with them anyway . . .
Almost a month gone by and the only other travel vendor that joins rccl is a hamburger helper type tour company that anyone I know has never even used . . . Too funny!!

  1. Who is the dillusional one here? I tell John, over and over that I am a guy... not a woman... and he stillrefers to me as "she" and "her".

And he thinks that just because I am YTB, I cannot have over $63K in commissions. How ignorant of a statement from her... I mean him! LOL!!! FYI Jonny-girl, there ARE people in YTB who actually book travel!!!!!

Hey, it's not my fault you guys don't have a marketing plan... which means that if you don't travel, your family goes hungry. Awwwwww.
I'm enjoying the best of both worlds!!!
I see you're still choking on that crow.

... and that's "Mr. Proud to be YTB" to you!!!

  2. That's "if you don't sell travel..."

  3. You know, it's an intereting thing. I have relatives who have retired to Florida. They don't really like it there - there's not really that much to do - other than shopping.....occasionally they'll go to the beach, but they don't really like the beach. They face unpredictable weather, hurricanes, etc... They spend an awful lot of time talking about how wonderful it is to live there - interspersed with complaints about the state government.

Seems to me they have doubt/regrets but are really just trying to convince themselves they've made the right decision/investment.

    hmmm..........

  4. Now, this last guy here in the posts John posted did lie. RCCL was NOT at the Funshine East in Orlando. Carnival was. Maybe he got the two mixed up.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Well, I was trying to keep identities somewhat discrete since it is about idiotic statements. But since you have no problem letting everyone know who you are.....

    ReplyDelete
  6. ... and your statement about your relatives not liking living in Florida has what to do with travel???

Nothing to do in Florida? There's plenty to do in Florida!!!
What are their interests? Maybe I could give a few ideas of things to do and places to go? Florida isn't just about the beach. There's a lot of culture here too! Have them go to St. Augustine on a vacation. There is a lot of history that surrounds that city, and they will enjoy themselves.

Orlando: Yes, there's theme parks... which I think are great!
There's also International Drive... a strip of attractions, shops and restaurants. There's something there to appeal to just about everyone!
They can go to Kennedy Space Center and take a tour!

I'm sure that if they get out and explore Florida more... they will like it better.

BTW... we haven't had a hurricane yet this year, and the weather is perfect fo just about any outdoor activity right now.

  7. I think (not sure) that the FL thing was an analogy. Someone making a big move and then finding all the reasons to want to believe it was the right move while ignoring any reasons that might prove that it was the wrong one for them.

And FL is certainly not for everyone in case it was not an analogy!

  8. John, you probably should think about removing your Google ads. Half of them are for YTB.

  9. Hate mail is very pathetic isn't it John. All of these same tactics have been used and applied by all MLM'ers in the past. It just demonstrates how desperate they are to be able to set back and not do any actual work for a living. Why do people feel like they are so entitled, to be able to make money and not have to do anything. I call those kind of people lazy and always looking for a way to "beat the system".

If these MLM'ers ONLY knew but it's like talkin' to a brick wall!! Oh wait, aren't brick walls made with brick and mortar? Oh that's right, those don't exist anymore LOLOL!! Puleez!!

    ReplyDelete
  10. John, I appreciate you witholding my identity this time. Thank you.
I also made the choice to identify myself... of my own free will. There's a big difference between choosing to I.D. and having someone else I.D. you... which John has had a habbit of doing in the past.

But hey, I made my point about my travel commissions TWICE. You question it... hey, that's your way. I know what I make. I get the checks, and I have it all recorded in my back office. I know people in YTB who have made more travel commissions than me. I may not be the best in YTB, but I am one of the top travel producers.

Like I said, I am a CRTA... which means that I book travel. I don't need to go out and recruit people. I already have a downline who are recruiting. I go out and build up my clientelle. Last night, I just talked to a couple who want to go to Europe with their family for 2 weeks. I also talked them into incorporating a European cruise while they are there. Of course, they don't plan on going until summer of 2008... which leavs more time for planning. They said that money is not a factor, but I am still going to find the best deals for them.

Aside from that, here's what I am also currently working on for people:

7 day cruise to the Carribbbean 14 cabins - neighbor

    5 - 7 day cruise for April - father's doctor and family (8 cabins)

A trip to the Grand Canyon - neighbor

7 day cruise to the carribbean - for my own family reunion (this will be at least a 25 cabin cruise. I have a lot of cousins!!!) Some more family members are wanting to go... and there's stillmore to contact with this reunion idea. It could end up being a 30 cabin cruise when I get done. There's a lot of details to work out with this one, but there's also plenty of time to do so.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Well if what you say is true Ms Proud (or is it "Pride" ;-) do you book your cruises for your customers online via your website or do you call the vendors directly to book them? If you're seriously that busy and that interested in being a "real travel agent" maybe you should consider working for a real travel agency. Why would you want to be affiliated with an organization which is getting such a bad rap!! I can't imagine that people will continue, especially if you're trying to also recruit them too? If you're not trying to recruit them, good for you!! But if you are, I ask, why would you want to take business away from yourself by recruiting all of your customers. What a vicious cycle, aka: hamster wheel, these MLM'er's find them on. Stop this thing, I want to get off!!! :-)

To whomever Anon said that John should remove his Google ads...I don't think he should, it just shows how tacky and desperate the whole system of MLM is. That's practically all that is on the Google AD system are MLM's anymore or so it seems. Everyone wants a little somethin' for nothing. So I think the Google ads are totally appropriate here.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Proud--I made $136,000,000 clear in commissions last year personally. I have a few ICs working for me that I earn an additional $760,543,000 on, and then my employees also make me money to the tune of $46,843,000.

So, last year, I made $943,386,000. So, there you have it, I have undeniably proven and unequivocally demonstrated that traditional travel agents earn way more than a MLM agent.

I have a Lexus golf cart, and only buy cars that are made in Italy and end in a vowel. Same goes for my clothing.

So, I guess this conversation has ended because I was able to prove you oh so wrong! Ha so there!

    ReplyDelete
  13. "John, you probably should think about removing your Google ads. Half of them are for YTB."

and for everyone that clicks thru, John earns some money!

Not bad for a "dinosaur", eh?

  14. getting back to the marketing part... I can show you how I am able to make over $30K a month. It's quite simple to understand if you see it.

In the marketing part, when i sign people on, I get paid! When they sign people on... I get paid. No matter how far down the line they are when signing people on... I stillget paid. Also, anything anyone in my power teams earn inthe marketing part... I receive a 50% match of that! This includes when they get their bonuses!!! I have more han 1 power team/ dream team, and have a lot of people in my downlines who are not only in their Power Teams, but also in their Dream Teams. this means that for every $1000 bonus handed out, I get $500. For every 10,000 bonus handed out, I get $5,000. On top of this, I also get a 4% residual every month for every person in my downline. I have 556 people in my downline. Let's just round it to 550 to make it easy for you. Every month, I get more than 1 check. 1 is $2,000 from the revenue sharing program. 1 is for $1,100 (4% residual) When someone in my power teams receives a bonus, I get a 50%match of that. I am also receiving 50% of other people's 50%!!! now you can see how I make over $30K a month just from the marketing side alone.

Here's a towel! There's egg on your face pal!

    ReplyDelete
  15. SO let's look at bonuses.

    You earn a $1000 bonus
Ten under you earn a $1000 bonus
Two under them earn a $1000 bonus

So, you are earning $1000 for you, $5000 from your underlings, and $1000 from their underlings.

Let's just assume there are only 13 of you in the nightmare team. As Reps you have paid nothing into the system. Your income is solely derived from the RTAs you sign up and the commissions they make from travel sales.

Do the math...eventually the money is not going to be there. You are not bringing in income from a source other than marketing (well mostly marketing) and your marketing pool is finite. WHen it dries up, you are done--pyramid collapses.

But for now, I am sure you are doing very well. But The people under you are doing less so, and you know what, the people under them, are probably losing.

See, those are the people that keep paying into the system to allow YTB to pay you. You rob from Peter to pay Paul. And hopefully there will be more Peters coming into the picture to keep Paul and the old Peters happy.

  16. Hey Anonymous...

It's MR. Proud! I am a guy (stating it for what seems to be the 100th time)!!!

Is this the ignorance I am dealing with here? I tsounds like sopme people here need to go back to anatomy and physiology class.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Maybe if you stopped whining like a little girl.....just a thought....

    ReplyDelete
  18. Actually the people in my downline are doing quite well. Like I said, many have reached the status of PTL, and even DTL (dream Team Level) One is 8 away from also becoming a Director.

    Dry up???
    Collapse???

Again, you still don't know what you are talking about! I can't reason with the mindless.

5 years down the road when YTB relieves you of all your clients, you will be standing there scratching your head asking yourself, "Why didn't I join YTB?"

Until you attend a meeting and see for yourself first hand what YTB is all about... instead of all of this speculation and propaganda (did I use too big of words for you?) You will have absolutely NO CREDIBILITY!!!

BTW John, The ENQUIRER doesn't write real stories. it's just a storyline fabricated around a picture taken from a freelance photographer. I suggest that you stop searching tabloids like that for your info.

    ReplyDelete
  19. And John, I didn't include travel commissions in the above statement... that's why I originally said that I make OVER $30,000 a month. The actual number is higher. Last month with travel commissions included, I made $44,782.27. The month before, it was $36,285.96. The month before that was $38,197.06

    ReplyDelete
  20. The only whining I see is that coming from you people about how YTB is hurting you... LOL!!!

And John, it would take many years for the funds to run out. There are only 136,000 RTAs in YTB. that's like filling up a football stadium 1 and a half times! By the time all the people in the world join YTB, You'll be dead... I'll be dead... so it really won't matter. Keep in mind that YTB are expanding into Canada and the United Kingdom in 2008!!!

Here's some cheese to go with your whine... LOL!!!

  25. Hopefully you do a better job at arranging travel than you do YTB meetings. I believe Ainsworth is from somewhere in the south and while I am in MD, it is nowhere near Jersey City or Chesapeake, VA. Alexandria is a good almost two hours. BUt it is ok, Doug is getting me some meetings that are in the state.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well, those are the meetings that are posted on my weekly list. You're a travel agent... can't you write the mileage off on your car in taxes???

BTW John, as you said... "13 in my nightmare team". Sorry, but I just told you you, I have over 500 in my teams with just over 100 in my power teams.

Again, you fail to read the full information.

Go to a meeting, then you will understand.

  27. John, Ainsworth's profile said that he is from LA. Yeah, he's from the south alright... southern California... LOL!!!

  28. John, Ainsworth's profile said that he is from LA. Yeah, he's from the south alright... southern California... LOL!!!

Last time I looked LA was in the south--sort of east of Texas, west of Mississippi, and south of Arkansas.

But then again, maybe you had not gotten to the geography part of the training!

And again, I said to "assume" that there were 13. It made it easier to demonstrate. But I know you are the King of YTB and have 500 under you. Rest assures and I even had the gender of the noun correct!

Proud must be laughing at his own ignorance. I'm sure glad that he isn't my travel agent. I'd be afraid that if I told him I wanted to go to Portland, he'd send me to the wrong one because he doesn't know his geography!

Proud, I am from the great state of Louisiana, for which LA is the common and accepted abbreviation.

You are thinking that I am in Los Angeles, for which the proper abbreviation is L.A. Do you see the difference? How's that crow that you seem to like to serve tasting right about now, idiot?

Besides, I want to attend one of YOUR meetings. I want to hear how YOU present this "wonderful" opportunity to people. Tell me when YOU are holding meetings, and where, and I'll show up at one of them. Of course, since I don't want you to do anything special on my behalf, I won't tell you when or where I'll be there.

John, same style YTB Meeting will be in Greenbelt, MD Saturday, December 15, 2007 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM be OK?

If not, next in MD would be in Rockville, MD on Sunday, Dec 16, 2007 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Let me know soon & I'll get exact locations for both of you..

  31. Ah, Louisiana! Yeah, I can laugh at my own mistakes! It's called having a sense of humor... LOL!!!

That's ok Ainsworth, I won't take your title away from you. You will always be John's Lackey!

Portland, Maine or Portland, Oregon Ainsworth? One's on the east coast, and the other on the west.

To answer the question asked by Anonymous (above), I do call the vendors and arrange it if it's a group cruise. If it's not a group cruise, I go on my website and do the research myself, get back with the clients showing them the available choices for their time frame... go through some shore excursions with them, and then walk them through booking it all face to face when possible... and see to it that they also get the travel insurance plan to go with it. This is how I make my clientele, and this is why the same ones came back to me for help with their next trip.

If someone I meet on the street is booking airfare, hotel, rental car, sports tix, ets, I tell them to check out my website and contact me if they need assistance. If someone is booking a cruise, I always tell them that I would like to work with them on arranging it.

I've got 2 of the cruises all set up to present to those clients, and the Grand Canyon trip ready for presentation. The Grand Canyon one was a little more dificult, because the client had many demands on when they wanted to fly (airfare, time of departure, number of layovers, duration of layovers, time of arrival, activities, specific hotel accomodations... had to call a few hotels)

    ReplyDelete
  32. "The Grand Canyon one was a little more dificult, because the client had many demands on when they wanted to fly (airfare, time of departure, number of layovers, duration of layovers, time of arrival, activities, specific hotel accomodations... had to call a few hotels)"

LOL. Too funny... Every one of my clients must be hugely demanding, then...

    ReplyDelete
  33. Proud -

How could you NOT get the analogy? Thanks William - so now we know which group did better on the SATs.!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wow, I'm impressed that Proud knows that there are 2 Portlands in the US (that's the abbreviation for United States)!

But tell us, proud, what do you do if someone you referred to your website contacts you and tells you that about 2 or 3 hours prior they had bought a ticket for Portland, and they just looked at the confirmation, and it said Portland, OR and they want to go to Portland, ME? What do you do then?

Then anonymous had these words of nothingness to say:

How about a meeting YTB has comming up in New Orleans that goes over both sides of the business Next Sunday, Dec 9, 2007
    1 PM - 6:30 PM?

Sorry, anon, but I'm going to be traveling. Matter of fact, I leave on a 6:35am flight tomorrow, and will be gone for a week (don't worry, though, I'll still be checking in as I'll have my laptop with me). Besides, I want to attend one of Proud's meetings to see how HE promotes YTB.

And another thing, proud, as far as being John's lackey? I'm no one's lackey, but if I were, I'd much rather be the lackey of a person that is brave enough to make a stand and tell the truth than of someone who goes by a ridicoulous nickname such as "Coach" and can't seem to speak for himself, and has HIS lackey, the so called president of a company, make all the statements.

Now, I'm off to pack and get things ready for my trip!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Lackey!

They don't call me to change their itinerary, They call YTB's office where they can change it in the mainframe.

Wow! The lackey knows that US stands for the United States!!! Hey Ainsworth, did you also know that America is a free country! With those freedoms, came the freedom of choice. I chose to follow Coach's plan, and it made me a lot of money!!! What used to take me a year to make, I now make in just 2 months! I always thought that making a profit in an investment was called "smart business". LOL!!!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I always thought that making a profit in an investment was called "smart business". LOL!!!

And what do you call it when you lose $28,577,794 in nine short months? Apparently for you it is called "Smarter Business"!!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Just curious Proud - do you carry E&O insurance? With all the "travel arranging" you are leaving yourself wide open to a lawsuit should someone do something incorrectly!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Besides E&O insurance, don't forget registering in all of the states that have Seller of Travel laws...

A secretary called in looking for hotel in Los Angeles. She gave me various names off a list, none of which I could find. I finally had her fax me the list. To my surprise, it was a list of hotels in New Orleans, Louisiana. She thought the LA stood for Los Angeles, and that New Orleans was a suburb of L.A. Worst of all, when I called her back, she was not even embarrassed.

I got a call from a woman who wanted to go to Capetown. I started to explain the length of the flight and the passport information when she interrupted me with "I'm not trying to make you look stupid, but Capetown is in Massachusetts." Without trying to make her look like the stupid one, I calmly explained, "Cape *Cod* is in Massachusetts; Capetown is in Africa." Her response: click.

  42. Not sure if the YTB Anon or the B&M Anon posted the above, but you could at least credit it as an existing joke. I've seen that on the internet for years now, except it's usually preceeded by "a republican candidate's staffer" or " a democratic senator's secretary."

    ReplyDelete
  43. Quick question for the MLMers - how many Springfields are there in the US with airport codes?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Oh. And just for my own personal knowledge, what is the usual rate for a B&M travel agent? If I wanted to fly from St. Louis to New York City and stay in a nice hotel in Times Square, what additional fee do I pay to have you plan it instead of doing it myself online?

It varies from agent to agent, from agency to agency. The only time I charge a fee is if whatever I'm booking doesn't pay a commission of some sort, i.e. an airline ticket, and then my fee ranges from $10-$25, depending on the complexity.

  48. Actually I charge qutie a high fee - and get it for service. I'm up-front about it and rarely, if ever, does someone say they're going to book on-line to save the fee. If I can package NYC for them, I charge $25 per person - this is in addition to whatever commission is involved and with NYC that usually is quite a lot. If I can not package and have to do airline tickets and a hotel reservation in the GDS, and it is likely I will have to wait until after travel for the hotel commission, I charge $45 per person. Again, they don't balk.

In addition to those non-refundable service fees, I have a non-refundable cancellation fee - clients are aware of this up front.

No problems with this, none at all. See, clients are willing to pay for the services of an experienced, educated, hard-working, organized, knowledgable Travel Agent - they appreciate my professionalism and they understand that they are buying service and some "peace of mind" should something go awry.

  49. Hmmm... package deals eh???

At YTB, we are also trained to arrange those package deals, by calling the vendors directly. We can do the same exact thing you do!!! The best thing is... we don't charge a service fee!!!

Well, proud, if you would read, you would find that I, too, don't charge a service fee. Not every traditional agent does!

I'm also still marveling at your ignorance over how the system works with plane tickets and a "mainframe"!

  51. BTW... about the Grand Canyon booking, the clients are in their early 70's, so yes... they have high demands on what they want to do, and at what time they want to travel. You wouldn't give people in their 70's a flight that involved many flight changes and long layovers... would you? You wouldn't have them fly out too early, or arrive too late... would you? I should hope not.

That's just part of it. I didn't even get into what they want to do while at the Grand Canyon.

So you leave an elderly couple that have high demands to their own devices in a strange place once they arrive? That's a pretty crappy thing to do. Why would you to that when there are many, many activities you can pre-book for them that you can be paid commission on?

So you are taking extra time and effort, doing the same work as me, and getting paid less for your time?

I get 100% of the travel commission, plus the service fee I charge.

Remove your downline from the picture - and who is working smarter?

  54. John, you said: SO let's look at bonuses.

    You earn a $1000 bonus
Ten under you earn a $1000 bonus
Two under them earn a $1000 bonus

So, you are earning $1000 for you, $5000 from your underlings, and $1000 from their underlings.

NO. A Rep makes a 50% match of commissions earned by personally sponsored Reps. This does not include Leadership or Dream Bonuses ($1000 & $10,000), or commissions of Reps they sponsor, contrary to what Proud may have said. You don't get a 50% match of someone else's 50% match.

    This is from YTB:
The 50% Match includes Direct Sale Commissions,PowerTeam Commissions, DreamTeam Commissions and all Residual Commissions. The Leadership Bonus, Dream Bonus and 50% Match are not included.

Direct Sale Commission = $50 for every personally sponored RTA.
Power Team Commission = $50 for every new RTA in your Power Team, whether you sponsored them or not.
Dream Team Commissions = $30 for every new RTA (Dream Team is when someone in your Power Team, regardless of who sposored them, starts their own Power Team)
Residual Commissions = $2 each month for every RTA in your Power Team and Dream Team (through 4 generations, $1 after that)
Leadership Bonus = $1000 every time your Power Team increases by six RTAs.
Dream Bonus = $10,000 every time your Power Team increases by 100 RTAs.

  55. Quick question for the MLMers - how many Springfields are there in the US with airport codes?

BDL Hartford/Springfield (Windsor Locks), CT [Bradley International Airport]

CEF Springfield/Chicopee, MA [Westover Air Reserve Base/Metropolitan Airport]

    SFY Springfield, MA

SGF Springfield, MO [Springfield Regional Airport]

SGH Springfield, OH [Springfield-Beckley Municipal Airport]

    SPI Springfield, IL [Capital Airport]

VSF Springfield, VT [Hartness State (Springfield) Airport]

    Seven (7).

  56. I notice that Proud (and none of the other self-identifed YTBers) didn't bother to try to answer - probably doesn't know how to find out....

I would not have counted Hartford - simply because Springfield was added to that to help market to the Western Mass folks. But very good!
