A recent comment was made about good business practices. This is coming from an individual whose credentials compare favorably to Dr. Rob Seligman PhD, RTA.
cruisin_man has left a new comment on your post "Like The Energizer Bunny":
Business is simple - cut and dry. Income in - expenses out. When you run a business properly you have people make sure everything is in order. Thus the reason people employ a CPA. Not just an everyday accountant - but a CPA.
Since the commenter seems to be very much "in the know" with YTB, perhaps he can tell us why their CFO is not a CPA?
Now johnny -
ReplyDeleteMy credentials?
I am only me . . .
A simple man with simple ideas. I've failed more times than I've succeeded in business - but do you know how many times Edison failed before inventing electricity?
I've never professed to have "credentials" johnny.
However - a CPA worthy of their salt can easily earn their living.
Tom
Well, when one professes to make more in a day than most earn in a year...I figured you would be the best source for all that is MLM.
ReplyDeleteDo you personally know the good doctor?
Who Cares this guy is worst then the Bad New's Bears!!!!!! This blog reminds me of there theme, I can say I know this for a Fact, 1 This Guy is in the Travel Industry or use to be. 2 Perks are Real Write off's are real Checks do Cash when you get them from YTB...
ReplyDelete3 I owned a business before ytb online and still have it and still am making money from from both.
www.buynselleverything.com For a Friendly Fellow YTB'er and also www.signupatworldwidetravels.us Get in where you fit in.. SF Burlingame CA CTRA WAS A HIT FILLED TO THE BRIM WE CAN'T BE STOPED.....
Never said day johnny - I said a week - big difference.
ReplyDeleteI wish being a crack journalist as you are (pun) - you could at least quote someone correctly.
It was based on the "average" annual wage of the "average" travel agent.
Geez!
I'm sorry, but buy n sell everything's grasp of grammar and spelling make it impossible to understand what he is trying to say.
ReplyDeleteCruisin_man, even though we all know you will go and edit the postings, on Travel Weekly's forums, you HAVE stated that you make more in one day than most earn in a year. Given the time to go through all your many nonsensical postings, I'm sure that I can find them.
Oh, and Cruisin_Man, you also said, right here on this blog in the Energizer Bunny thread, that you "make more in a day than someone makes in a year". Here is a cut and paste of it:
ReplyDeletecruisin_man said...
lisa, lisa - why so bitter sweety?
You my dear - are mistaken with your assumptions . . .
you said - " I'd rather be an "old hen" who's got more experience in this industry then you ever will "
Look sweety - I ran a multi-million dollar travel enterprise of which you couldn't have washed my jock strap. Your minor experience as an agent wouldn't compare on an annual basis for what I had accomplished in a single day.
LOL @ an old hen comparing her maybe if she's lucky $100k a year income to what I have produced in the travel industry.
Too funny . . .
" So Cluck you :) "
LOL - that's the only thing you've ever said that made any sense.

uh anonomyass -
ReplyDeleteI said "accomplished" - not what I made or earned. You see - my company created over $100 million in sales per year at it's peak.
I was referring to "accomplishments" - not earnings - learn to read.
Tom
p.s. - John, I am starting a blog (advertising) - got a few minutes next week to chat for some layout idea questions?
Tom,
ReplyDeleteWhat are you going to advertise about? That you have mental issues that will never be reversed?
To get this post back on topic - the question was posed:
ReplyDelete"why their(YTB's) CFO is not a CPA?"
after this statement was made:
"When you run a business properly you have people make sure everything is in order. Thus the reason people employ a CPA. Not just an everyday accountant - but a CPA."
CM aka Tom Coleman of Butthol, er, Portal, GA......made, accomplished....you're just splitting hairs. In the context that they're being used they mean the same thing. Learn the use of subleties, you doink. You never did address the post about the boast you made on Travel Weekly, so I guess if someone took the time, someone would be able to find that you DID say the words "made" and "day" together there, huh?
ReplyDeleteAnd as the above poster said, while you're explaining things, why don't you explain to us why the CFO of YTB isn't a CPA, since having a CPA is important? Don't try to pass it off as he has CPA's working for him, either. You would think that the most important person in the company dealing with the money and finances would be a CPA so he could understand what the ones working for him are saying!
Actually, very few large corporations have a CPA as their CFO - usually, the CFO has an MBA in finance and he employes CPAs to do annual reporting, audits, taxes.
ReplyDeleteSorry John but that really is the case.
True--but with 175 employees at YTB and most of them in the "travel support" area, I do not think there is a team of CPAs out there in the main office. If there were, I am not so sure Ted Lindauer would have referenced it in his shareholder threat to sue letter.
ReplyDeleteBut you are right...major corps would have a CPA on staff. Does YTB?
Here's really what I wonder about - does YTB have auditors from a CPA House come in every year? I thin that maybe they have to since they are traded publicly?
ReplyDeleteThey do get audited but I think I remember reading something about them having to restate earnings or hire other auditors...something...but I'd have to check their filings to say for certain.
ReplyDeleteYes, we changed Auditors in January of 2006. The new auditors found "irregularities" in the filings and it took almost a full year to restate. (Which is why we are on Pink Sheets today.)
ReplyDeleteOur new firm is UHY LLP which I believe is listed on all our SEC filings. (I’m sure it is on the Stock Holder Proxy of the 1-3 split last year.)
Hmmmmmmmmmm -
ReplyDeleteSeems things are becoming interesting in the Travel MLM world. Everyone please read USA Today for the next week or so . . .
HUGE developments in the travel world are soon upon us!
Tom
Oh do tell Tom! Did YTB buy an ad? Gosh I hope that they would not be so foolish to do that when they have 140,000 RTAs and 303,000 Reps walking around spreading the gospel
ReplyDeleteMy Magic 8 Ball tells me this is nothing but hot air. Just like October 15th!
ReplyDeleteBut, my source is placed well enough that if there were something, he probably would not tell. But the tone of the voice leads me to believe that there is nothing there.
Perhaps there is something that may be minutely related to travel, but not really?
LOL - it is going to be so BIG - it is going to make all the nay sayers go - WTF !!!
ReplyDeleteSimply Amazing . . .
Tom
Yeah Tom,
ReplyDeleteIf I had a million bucks everytime you had some great groundbreaking news, I'd have BILLIONS. BILLIONS like you make off YTB stock. Amazing.
Isn't that where Coach Jr. demanded RCL print an apology?
ReplyDeleteBut this MUST be really BIG news if it's going to take a week just to write the story. And AMAZING that only USA Today has the scoop.
ReplyDeleteYeah because USA Today is SUCH a great rag. Amazing.
ReplyDeleteAnd apparently only Tom knows about this. With all the "insider" information he has, it could only mean great things to come!
Hey SCAM, why are you posting as an anon? "AMAZING"
ReplyDeleteErrr....no reason for me to post under anonymous but nice try. Not hard for someone to post "AMAZING". Maybe there are others that laugh at Tom's "AMAZING" comments...they get old. I'm not the first to post them and I won't be the last. I never hide
ReplyDeleteno need to. But nice try. You YTB people always have the "inside" information.
Why don't you register yourself Ole? Oh wait, probably because your one of the YTB faithful here already, and just tend to double post, to try to add to the cheerleading section.
