A Most Influential Snub?

How do you explain this snub? Carnival assembled a panel of influential travel agency industry executives to discuss the industry and they did not invite one of the most influential men in travel?

Boy, it seems Carnival has slipped up lately...no Pinnacle Award....no Most Influential.....I wonder if the business provided to Carnival was maybe just not that good of business.

Here's the list...and from what I see, each of these folks carry way more influence than J. Kim Sorenson!

Members of the forum are: Roberta Christman, AAA Northern California, San Francisco; Brad Anderson, America's Vacation Center; Sandy Cleary, Cru Con Outlet, Boston; Anthony Hamawy, Cruise.com, Ft. Lauderdale; John Keen, Cruise consultant, Charlotte, NC; Vicky Garcia, Cruise Planners, Coral Springs, FL; and Michael Drever, CruiseShipCenters, Vancouver.

Also, Ross Spalding, Cruise Value Center, East Brunswick, NJ; Koreen McNutt, Expedia, Seattle; Joyce Landry, Landry & Kling, Coral Gables, FL; Makis Xenatos, Liberty Travel, Ramsey, NJ; Jackie Friedman, Nexion, South Lake, TX; Ed Rudner, Online Vacation Center, Plantation, FL; Marcia Rowley, Our Vacation Center, Phoenix; Filomena Andre, Signature, Los Angeles; Mark Jacobs, The Cruise Line Limited, North Potomac, MD; Ken Lorey, Travelocity, Boston; Emerson Hankamer, Vacations to Go, Houston; and David Crooks, World Travel Holdings, Boston.

  1. I'm sure that YTB's response will be that they don't need Carnival, like they don't need IATAN, Royal Caribbean, Azamara, Celebring, Perillo Tours....

  2. No, you know what YTB's response will be? John called Carnival and told them not to invite YTB. LOL!

  3. I haven't been very active lately because I'm stitting back enjoying watching YTB sink, pun intended. Where are Firemedic, Denyse, Gail, Josh, Rod and all of the sheep? I see that Mixed has chimed in a few times but it is obvious that he is not selling anything or recruiting either. I can hardly contain myself over the "mark my words" of Mixed. I'm curious if Doug is working as a stock boy at Piggly Wiggly. I will be amazed if Denyse is still bringing in her "6 figure income per month." Poor Candi May. I wonder if she will reopen another 3 agencies?

I thought you people might be interested in an email I received yesterday from one of the very confused YTB members. It is in regards to forwarding his post on CL to the CA AG. John might want to contact this person so he can contact the elusive "Saligman." He knows him!

    Re: Fwd: Craigslist Post-.eml (3KB)

sad you are so negative which probably shows up in many places in your life I'm sure.

funny they aren't going to be around for long but were just rated #10 of all online travel companies world wide, #26 of all top 250 travel companies on the Travel Weekly power list and are only in 4 countries now. you sound a little cocky to be honest and can tell you REALLY don't know the background of the person you're emailing.

I've sat on a panel with 4 financial analysts with LPL who have evaluated the stock, financials, balance sheet and cash flow summary (and do you know why the price has gone from around $8 to around $1- I would guess not but if you do your homework, you will know why) and three of them have since purchased stock themselves (in addition to myself).

I have personally met Lloyd, Scott and Kim on many occasions, spent time with Lloyd in his home discussing their future plans, met with the president of UPS whom they just made a partnership with on our business sites, met with people from Ifranchise out of Chicago whom they have retained to structure their franchise model next year, etc...

Also know the former Director whom YTB fired for making false income/travel claims who ironically joins a competitor in CA and then brings a class action lawsuit against YTB 2 days before national convention (and know other reps who used to work with him and know about his terrible lack of professionalism among many other issues he was given warning about before being let go by YTB).

Also know Bob Saligman (Barry Diller's right hand man for many years) who has his PhD from Oxford and has evaluated our company for almost 6 months and then joined us. Also met and talked to John Copeland who is one of the most prestigious, well know marketing guru's within network marketing industry who has worked with almost all of the famous networking companies over the last 30 years to help them improve their image (most recently Amway's transition to Quickstar) during tough times (by the way, he never joined a single one of them but just joined YTB 2 weeks ago).

I could go on and on as I spent over 6 months researching this company but to be honest, what's the point? You obviously already feel the way you feel which is fine.

To bad it hasn't worked for you but sounds like with your attitude, YTB is not a home for you anyway.

    Best of luck.

  4. Doesn't it just drive you crazy when they can't even spell my good friend what's his name correctly?

I didn't know the president of UPS made personal calls to sign contracts. I wonder if Coach offered a stock deal for a better shipping rate?

  5. I thought I'd check in since someone is so concerned about my welfare. I am here.

I have not had a need to respond to anything here since there's no point. But I am doing well, thank you! I'm just very busy booking travel, building my business and traveling back and forth to care for my mother who has terminal cancer.

BTW, I never said I bring in 6 figures per month, however, I am still enjoying 5 figures! And sorry for you, but I am not on a sinking sink!

    Take care........

  6. I'm around too. I just don't care what the TTA's here have to say anymore.

  7. Thats ok firemedic, we get the same "parrot" responses from most anyway. Not only here but on other sites as well. There must be a training manual that tells you exactly what to say to any question.

Denyse..you don't make 6 figures per month, but your blog says to join YTB so you can make 6 figures a month. That is your voice spouting that I assume.

  8. If everyone is doing as well as Denyse why are the financials so low? I'm going to guess that out of 135,000 RTAs only 2500 actually sell travel and earn some money doing it. I find it way hard to believe recruiting is doing very well right now unless REPs are not disclosing all the troubles. I think most MLMers are way over stating their income.

  9. Eddie---I have it on good authority that the number of RTAs (as of Wednesday) is under 120K. It is possible that when they release the quarterly numbers (reflecting through September 20th) that the RTA count may be under 100K

  10. Well, looky here firemedic doesn't want to hear what we have to say. Could it be he sees the nail in the coffin? If you are still in YTB after they cut off the bank pipeline and all the other garbage coming out you are dumber than a box of rocks. And Denyse honey hard to sell travel when YTB's reputation is lower than a snake's belly. But, then again you have a day job so you don't have to worry. As to your 6 figures, 5 figures you talk so much out of both sides of your mouth who knows what is real and what isn't. I would hurry up and cash your YTB checks before they bouncy like a ball.....Love and Kisses. xxxxooooxxxx.
